Yesterday we celebrated Purok Fiesta here in our Barangay. This is what we always do every June 28, in celebration with the feast of Saint John the Baptist. One of our tradition as a Catholic, as for that each Purok are assigned to bring foods to be displayed and each member of the Purok are also opened to bring also their foods for everyone. Our Municipal Mayor also gives us 100 Kilos of Meat for 6 Purok or groups and it is for us on what kind of dish or foods we want to cook for the activities. Before the celebration started, each leaders conducted meeting and the Agenda is all about the assigned food for each group. This will help to make the activities well in place and no hassle will happen. Gladly there are lots of members also voluntarily offered to bring their foods also for everyone.

The venue is also tackled at the meeting and everyone was agreed that the venue will be at the Basket ball ground in Zone 6 Barangay Punta Silum. This place here is fit for the activities because it is very spacious and wide and aside of that it is far from the road and safe for the children to play around. When the meeting was all set, each leaders received Kilos of meat to be distributed also few Kilos on their members. Sound system are also set at the basket ball ground and the Barangay officials also lend hundreds of chairs and tables for the foods to placed. 10 in the morning when we arrived at the place bringing some foods and as we arrived, lots of people are already there. Foods are well displayed at the long tables, Each group have two long tables and chairs. We also wait for our Priest to arrived because He wants to join our activities here in our Place and we felt very excited to met him. This area is also good for gatherings venue because it is very cool and shady areas because of the tall coconuts and few big trees.

As the feast has already begun when our Parish Priest arrived and the first activity we did was to do Zumba Dancing. We have lots of fun and I also have fun time watching them enjoyed dancing. It takes almost an hour and the children was also joined dancing with the adults. This is only a dance presentation as parts of the activities, and after that our Parish priest gives an inspirational message to everyone. He blessed all including the foods and after that we started to eat the foods served at the tables. Sharing is the most best way that is why all of the foods are for everyone.
