My Husband's Visit to his Hometown to celebrate his Mom's 88th Birthday

Happy weekend to you all, and may you spend this weekend with your loved ones.

I just wanted to share our happiness because, at last, after two or more years, my husband was able to visit his mom again.

My daughter @tegoshei and I were planning a month ago to save some money, and surprise her papa and her lola to see each other again in person. Because we know they missed each other already.
Actually, all of us missed each other because our relationship with my parents-in-law is so affectionate and deep.

We used to visit them once or twice a year before. But something came up from both family sides that needs financial help, and we prioritized them. My health situation is also a reason we can't immediately visit them, although we always contact each other through phone calls and sometimes video calls.

My mother-in-law is so thoughtful to us, she is always the one who greets us first during special occasions. And she always tells us that she misses us already and hopes to see us when the time comes.

It was her 88th birthday yesterday, so we told my husband days before that we would surprise my mother-in-law with his presence. It was so overwhelming to see my husband's joy upon hearing our news.

My daughter offers to shoulder his fare back and forth, and I provide his allowance to spend there, like some foods to share with his mom, siblings, nephews, and some cute grandkids. My daughter and I made a special birthday cake for her, and attached to the box was a little gift of cash.

My daughter baked it in an air fryer. I made the cake filling, which is mango compote, and the toppings, which are mango jelly jam. She then decorated it with a heart using mango compote surrounded by some grated cheese. So yesterday hubby was on his trip.

He always updates us on his trip by sending some photos of his travel bound to his hometown, San Carlos City in Negros Island.

My mother-in-law was so happy upon seeing his son, though a bit sad because we were not complete, but she understands. If we visit there together, it really needs a bigger budget, but sad to say, we're still financially unstable now. It is also hard to leave our fur babies alone.

We just greeted her through a video call when hubby arrived there. She was so happy with the cake and the cash gift, too, especially his son's presence. 🥰❤

My husband accompanied her to church to light some candles and offer thanks for another healthy year.

They also visited my father-in-law's grave.

My husband only stayed there overnight, but that was worth it. And he is traveling back home now. Sending some photos again on his trip while having a family group chat. (Me, @tegoshei, and hubby)

I am just so grateful that one of our plans was fulfilled. Hoping and praying for other plans to be fulfilled in the future, too, in God's loving grace and mercy.
