Hello hivers, hello @asean.hive community it's been a long tine that I did not write a long post or a blog here in @asean.hive due to a busy life. Last May 28, 2024 Scarlet was being scratch by our cat as sheq play our cat using the red ribbon, she let the cat catch the ribbon and accidentally instead of ribbon it was her hands being scratched. First i did not notice until I wonder why she keep hiding her hands. So ask her and she answer that she was scratch by our cat. What I did was I washed it with soap and water thoroughly. I was quite worried because there's an incident already and that victim was from our place that being scratched by a stray cat and unfortunately she died. I overthink and worried. Since it's our fiesta in the following day so there's no personnel in our RHU. I decided to go after fiesta to ask referral for her vaccination.

To make sure for her safety we ask referral to our RHU and we went to city health for her vaccination. It very important to have anti-rabies although it was our cat and just a scratched but I'm still worry and it can't blame that I overthink.

As we reached our destination we get our priority number and wait for our turn. Before that they conducted a brief seminar about rabies. For us to know, how to prevent and how to do the first aid treatment. And after that was a doctor check-up. The doctor will checked and note what case category belong. I thought it was free vaccine as our neighbor was free before. Sad to say that the free vaccine medicine was fully served and w have to buy for our own. I nothing to do but to buy. I pay Php 1,165.00 pesos including the injection for every session.

It's very hard for me because Scarlet was afraid of injection. She has a phobia of injection when she still a baby and vaccinated of anti-titanus. Everytime she hear about doctor what comes in her mind is injection. She really cried so much but that's for her safety and protection.

After that we went to Mang Inasal for our lunch to cure his phobia.but as you can see she was so angry with me. She always telling me that she don't like injection and she was afraid but I explained to her why do it for her protection but still she doesn't understand what she feel was very afraid. I feed sad her mother but I have nothing to do and thafor her own good. We still have 2 session left. By the way she belong to case 2 category since it was just a scratched.

Same as usual we went her at Mang Inasal for our lunch. Unlike before she's in a mood already as her request of halo-halo was granted. She was happy and contented.

As we walked going to terminal heading for home. She saw a majic wand which she really wanted to buy during her graduation. I buy since it was just cheaped. And after that we went home.

Since it was her last session we take the opportunity to came here before going home. This was near city health but this was just the chance that we went here because my priority last time was her vaccination. After that we're going to Macdonald for our lunch.

This McDonald's Gingoog Branch was a new branch. And it's an opportunity since we are already here. Tummy are full and it ended a happy Scarlet.

Before my blog ends, i would like to have a brief about Rabies.

Rabies is a terrifying disease, and prevention is paramount. It's good to be reminded of the importance of vaccination. It's a simple step that can save lives.

It's understandable to be worried, but the chances of getting rabies from a cat scratch are extremely low. Rabies is usually transmitted through saliva, and a scratch is less likely to involve saliva contact than a bite. Most cases of rabies are caused by bites from bats or dogs, not cats.

However, it's still important to take precautions. If you are ever scratched by a cat, especially a stray or one that has been outside, it's a good idea to clean the wound thoroughly with soap and water and seek medical attention. Your doctor can assess the situation and recommend any necessary treatment, including a rabies vaccine.

Here's what you should do:

  1. Clean the Wound: Thoroughly wash the scratch with soap and water.
  2. Seek Medical Attention: Go to City Health immediately for a rabies vaccine.
  3. Observe the Cat: If possible, keep an eye on the cat to see if it shows any signs of rabies.

Remember: Rabies is a serious disease, and getting vaccinated is crucial to prevent infection.

Until here, i hope everyone would love to read my blog and get some lessons.
