From Five Years of Waiting to Yearly Harvests: The Durian Trees at My Parents Backyard

Hello, everyone!

Today, I want to share my experience when I visited the durian trees in my parents' backyard.

My parents have plenty of durian trees, and whenever I see them bearing fruits, I feel happy because we can enjoy fresh durian straight from our own backyard.

According to my parents, there was a time when some of their durian trees had been growing for five years but still had not produced any fruits. They thought maybe it was because of the cold weather in our place. So, they tried putting salt around the trees. After that, the trees started bearing fruits, and since then, they have been producing durian every year.

I don't know if the salt was the reason, but that was what happened based on my parents' experience. Maybe some of you who have durian trees can share your knowledge about this.

I went to the trees behind my parents' house because I wanted to get some durian, especially the Puyat variety. I was excited to see the fruits hanging from the branches. There were so many of them!

What amazed me was that my parents usually waited for the durian to fall naturally before collecting it. Sometimes, it seemed that some fruits were just left there instead of being harvested and sold. While looking at those durian trees, I'm thinking that in the city the price is so high.

So, I decided to have some of the fruits harvested. I also marked some of them because I planned to send them to my in-laws. At least, I could share some of our durian with them. It feels good when we have something from our own backyard that we can share with our family.

Of course, I also had a funny thought while looking at those big durian fruits. I imagined myself eating one whole big durian all by myself! Haha! In my mind, I could finish it because I really wanted to enjoy eating durian.

But honestly, I don't think I could finish one whole big durian alone. In my mind, I don't want to that my blood pressure will high after eating. Sometimes, our imagination is more overthinking than reality.

I feel blessed that my parents have these fruit trees in their backyard. Aside from giving us delicious fruits, they also remind me that gardening takes patience. Imagine waiting for five years before seeing fruits, then finally enjoying a harvest every year!

That's all for my little durian story today. I hope these trees will continue producing plenty of fruits so we can enjoy and share more durian with our family.

How about you, fellow garden lovers? Do you also have durian trees at home? I would love to hear your stories!
