Bangkok - A Taste Of Hangzhou @ Longjing
I must say, being an Asian and of Chinese race, there's always a slight preference to try Chinese cuisine regardless where I am, even when I am overseas. So this post will feature another restaurant that originated from China, more specifically Hangzhou. And that's Longjing!
China is such a big country, and naturally, they have different types of cuisine in different parts of the country, and when they first opened in my country, I have heard many good reviews about this place, but the queues were always very long.
So when I found out that they also opened in Bangkok, I tried my chance and fortunately, there was no queue during off peak timing! So yay!
The first dish was Vermicelli Wrapped Shrimps. This is always my favourite dish at Chinese restaurants because the sweetness of the shrimps paired with the vermicelli is always a delicious combination.
This next dish is one of their signatures, Longjing Roast Chicken. As I couldn't take spicy food, we opted for a non spicy version, and I felt that the taste did not meet my high expectations. Perhaps the original spicy version would have been flavourful because of the spicy "kick".
Another one of their signature dishes would be Signature Roast Pork. This was perfect! A good mixture of lean and fatty meat, and I really enjoyed it!
Finally, for desserts, we ordered the popular and very Instagram worthy Ice Cream Leifeng Pagoda. I think it is made to resemble one of the pagodas in China. It's actually a milk pudding which was a good end to a sumptuous meal. For the aesthetic effort to create this beautifully shaped dessert, they deserve a thumbs up!
That's all I have! I can't remember how much the bill came up to, but the prices in Bangkok were around 30% cheaper than my home country, so I guess it's a win win for me, to skip the queues and be able to eat the same food at a discount.
