[EN/PT-BR] A Great Ally Against Magic Cards

In my post [EN/PT-BR] Coeurl Lurker, The Backline Defense You Need about Splinterlands I was talking about how the Coeurl Lurker is an excellent monster to have in battle in the backline because of its Taunt ability and even if it couldn't attack, it would still be an excellent defense because it has a great chance of dodging attacks, even magic attacks.

In this post I'm going to talk about another monster that also has the Taunt ability and is one of my favorites with it, because unlike the Coeurl Lurker, it can attack from any position but doesn't have a good chance of dodging attacks. This monster is Wave Brood from the water deck and although it's not good at dodging attacks since it has a low speed, it has great abilities that will help it be a great defense for your battle, especially if you combine it with the right monsters.

As I mentioned before, Wave Brood belongs to the water deck and unlike Coeurl Lurker, which belongs to the neutral deck, Wave Brood can only be used in the water deck and therefore there is a limitation to how much I can use it and it will also depend on the type of battle because its mana cost is not low.

Wave Brood has 4 abilities, which are:

Taunt - With this ability, all enemy units will target Wave Brood (if possible).

Close Range - With this ability, Wave Brood will be able to attack in the first position.

Void Mage - With this ability, Wave Brood will receive only half of the damage caused by magical attacks.

Return Fire - With this ability, Wave Brood will deal part of the ranged damage received back to the attacker.

I consider it a good defense because it will receive reduced damage from magic attacks and will also deal part of the damage back against ranged attacks, but it gets even better if you use monsters that have the Triage ability since this ability will heal the backline monster that takes the most damage and since the Wave Brood will be the target of the enemy monsters then it will receive the healing.

Watch The Battle

In this battle as an example I used the Wave Brood in the last position and used 2 monsters with the Triage ability, these monsters are the Angelic Mandarin from the water deck and the Spirit Hoarder from the neutral deck. With the Triage ability the monster will be healed for 1/3 of its maximum life and since the Wave Brood has 14 life this means that it will receive 4 healing for each monster with the Triage ability. This strategy has a flaw, which is when enemy monsters have the Affliction ability, which has a 50% chance of being applied to my monster and cutting off all healing received from it. This was the case in this battle, but I was lucky that the odds were in my favor and it was only near the end that the Wave Brood stopped receiving healing.

I love using the Taunt ability in my battles. I find it very efficient and it gives me many victories, in addition to being very fun.

Neste post eu vou falar sobre outro monstro que também possui a habilidade Taunt e é um dos meus favoritos com ela, porque diferente do Coeurl Lurker, ele pode atacar de qualquer posição mas não possui boas chances de se esquivar dos ataques. Esse monstro é Wave Brood do deck de água e apesar de não ser bom em se esquivar dos ataques já que possui uma velocidade baixa, ele possui ótimas habilidades que irão ajudar ele a ser uma ótima defesa para a sua batalha, principalmente se você combinar ele com os monstros certos.

Como mencionei antes o Wave Brood pertence ao deck de água e diferente do Coeurl Lurker que pertence ao deck neutro, o Wave Brood só pode ser usado no deck de água e por isso existe uma limitação para o quanto posso usar ele e também irá depender do tipo de batalha porque seu custo de mana não é baixo.

O Wave Brood possui 4 habilidades que são:

Taunt - Com essa habilidade todas as unidades inimigas terão o Wave Brood como alvo (se possível).

Close Range - Com essa habilidade o Wave Brood será capaz de atacar na primeira posição.

Void Mage - Com esssa habilidade o Wave Brood irá receber apenas metade do dano causado por ataques mágicos.

Return Fire - Com essa habilidade o Wave Brood irá causar parte do dano ranged recebido de volta para o atacante.

Eu considero ele uma boa defesa porque irá receber dano reduzido de ataques mágicos e também irá causar parte do dano de volta contra ataques ranged, mas ele fica ainda melhor se você usar monstros que possuem a habilidade Triage já que essa habilidade irá curar o monstro da backline que sofrer mais dano e como o Wave Brood será o alvo dos monstros inimigos então ele que irá receber a cura.

Assista a Batalha

Nesta batalha como exemplo eu usei o Wave Brood na última posição e utilizei 2 monstros com a habilidade Triage, esses monstros são o Angelic Mandarin do deck de água e o Spirit Hoarder do deck neutro. Com a habilidade Triage o monstro será curado em 1/3 da vida máxima e como o Wave Brood possui 14 de vida isso significa que ele irá receber 4 de cura por cada monstro com a habilidade Triage. Essa estratégia tem uma falha que é quando os monstros inimigos possuem a habilidade Affliction que tem 50% de chance de ser aplicada no meu monstro e cortar toda cura recebida dele, foi o caso dessa batalha mas eu tive a sorte das chances estarem a meu favor e apenas perto do final que o Wave Brood parou de receber cura.

Eu adoro usar a habilidade Taunt em minhas batalhas, acho bastante eficiente e me rendem muitas vitórias, além de serem muito divertidas.
