Just great content isn't enough ⚔ Splinterlands

Apesar do título impactante eu já quero deixar algo muito claro: Na Hive você pode postar o que quiser (respeitando as regras de convivência e das comunidades) mas isso não significa que você receberá boas recompensas por qualquer conteúdo que for publicado. Tendo deixado isso bem claro vamos partir para a ideia principal desse post.

Muitas pessoas estão constantemente tentando aprimorar seu conteúdo, seja ele sobre assuntos diversos ou de Splinterlands para conseguir alcançar mais pessoas e consequentemente receber melhores votos. Essa ideia é ótima e existem muitas maneiras de alcançar esse objetivo, alguns deles focados nos Challenges promovidos pelo Splinterlands eu me aprofundo neste post.

Mas há um fator muito relevante que nem sempre fica claro para todos os usuários da Hive que é o Network. Falar de Network em uma "colmeia" parece óbvio mas nem todas as pessoas tem noção da importância disso. Para conseguir crescer adequadamente na Hive, além de criar conteúdo de qualidade é necessário interagir com outros usuários seja respondendo os comentários das suas postagens ou comentando nos posts de outras pessoas. Além disso você pode (e deve!) entrar nas comunidades com temas do seu gosto e tentar conhecer novas pessoas. É possível fazer isso através das próprias comunidades da blockchain ou em vários discords de comunidades específicas. Se você for brasileiro então considere entrar na comunidade Hivebr, mas caso você seja indiano a Indiaunited será a comunidade que você deve procurar. Há muitas outras que poderiam ser mencionadas como a BDCommunity para os usuários de Bangladeshi ou a imensa Neoxian que é uma cidade criada dentro da própria Hive!

Devemos lembrar que essa é a ideia de uma rede social: socializar! Ao fazer as curações do Splinterlands eu vejo alguns usuários que não seguem e não são seguidos por ninguém, seus perfis no twitter também não possuem nenhum seguidor e o usuário não comenta em absolutamente nada na Hive além dos Challenges. Nesse caso não há grandes motivos para essa pessoa receber a curação do Splinterlands, afinal ela não está agregando em nada na rede e o seu objetivo é apenas postar para receber recompensas. Vamos fazer uma reflexão: Em quem você votaria?

Um usuário que fez um post de boa qualidade e que está sempre presente na sua comunidade ajudando diversas pessoas.
Um usuário que fez um post de excelente qualidade mas que não interaje com ninguém e não possui seguidores.

Se você respondeu a segunda opção, sinto-lhe informar mas você muito provavelmente não conseguiria encontrar esse post de excelente qualidade pois ele não teria alcance nenhum. Os posts que aparecem na sua timeline são publicados pelas pessoas que você segue ou reblogados por eles. Como a postagem de alguém com 0 interações chegará até o seu feed?

É exatamente por isso que eu digo que apenas criar conteúdo excelentes não é suficiente. Você precisa interagir com outros usuários e comunidades, seguir pessoas e mostrar que você é uma pessoa realmente interessada em fazer parte da Hive. Apesar de não serem critérios expressos diretamente são bastante relevantes para avaliar se um usuário está apto ou não a receber curações. O Splinterlands tem grande relevância nessa rede e o objetivo principal dos Challenges é disseminar o conhecimento e aumentar o alcance do jogo para fora das paredes da Hive. Você como jogador e criador de conteúdo precisa entender esse objetivo e estar alinhado com ele ao criar seus posts, caso contrário é possível que eventualmente você pare de ser elegível aos votos por algum desses motivos.

Durante a sua jornada na Hive tenha em mente seus objetivos de longo prazo, eis aqui as minhas sugestões:

Crie conteúdo original.
Siga os criadores de conteúdo que você goste e interaja o máximo possível.
Entre em comunidades na Hive e no Discord para conhecer novos usuários.
Não forge nada, você será pego e isso será ruim.
Continue a tentar crescer.

Explorando esse último ponto, se um usuário está a meses criando posts semanais de Splinterlands e continua jogando na liga Novato ou Bronze III este é um alerta vermelho sobre as intenções do usuário. Eu quero que todos saibam disso para evitar confusões futuras. Era isso o que eu tinha para falar, a Hive é sobre crescimento, network e empenho, então definam seus objetivos e continuem tentando alcançá-los da melhor maneira possível!

Despite the striking title I already want to make something very clear: At Hive you can post whatever you want (respecting the rules of coexistence and communities) but this does not mean that you will receive good rewards for any published content. Having made this clear let's move on to main idea of this post.

Many people are constantly trying to improve their content, be it on various subjects or from Splinterlands to reach more people and therefore receive better votes. This idea is great and there are many ways to achieve this goal, some of them focused on the Challenges promoted by Splinterlands I delve into in this post.

But there is one very relevant factor that isn't always clear to all users of Hive which is Network. Talking about Network in a "hive" seems obvious but not everyone is aware of its importance. To grow properly on Hive, besides creating quality content it is necessary to interact with other users either by replying to comments on your posts or by commenting on other people's posts. In addition you can (and should!) join communities with themes of your taste and try to meet new people. You can do this through the blockchain communities themselves or in various discords of specific communities. If you are Brazilian then consider joining the Hivebr community, but if you are Indian the Indiaunited community is the one you should look for. There are many others that could be mentioned like BDCommunity for Bangladeshi users or the huge Neoxian which is a city created within Hive itself!

We must remember that this is the idea of a social network: socialize! When doing Splinterlands curations I see some users who do not follow and are not followed by anyone, their twitter profiles also do not have any followers and the user does not comment on absolutely nothing in Hive besides Challenges. In this case there is not much reason for this person to receive the Splinterlands curations, after all he/she is not adding anything to the network and his/her goal is only to post to receive rewards. Let's reflect: Who would you vote for?

A user who has made a good quality post and is always present in his community helping many people.
A user who has made a great quality post but doesn't interact with anyone and has no followers.

If you answered the second option, I am sorry to inform but you would most likely not be able to find this excellent quality post as it would have no reach at all. The posts that appear on your timeline are either published by the people you follow or reblogged by them. How will someone's post with 0 interactions make it to your feed?

This is exactly why I say that just creating great content is not enough. You need to interact with other users and communities, follow people, and show that you are a person who is really interested in being part of Hive. Although these are not directly expressed criteria they are quite relevant in assessing whether or not a user is eligible for curation. The Splinterlands has great relevance in this network and the main goal of the Challenges is to spread knowledge and increase the reach of the game outside the walls of Hive. You as a player and content creator need to understand this goal and be aligned with it when creating your posts, otherwise it is possible that you may eventually stop being eligible for votes for one of these reasons.

During your journey at Hive keep your long term goals in mind, here are my suggestions:

Create original content.
Follow content creators you like and interact as much as possible.
Join communities on Hive and Discord to meet new users.
Don't forge anything, you will get caught and that will be bad.
Keep trying to grow.

Exploring that last point, if a user has been creating weekly Splinterlands posts for months and continues to play in the Novice or Bronze III league this is a red alert about the user's intentions. I want everyone to know this to avoid future confusion. That's what I had to say, Hive is about growth, networking and commitment, so set your goals and keep trying to achieve them in the best way possible!
