EOS Chest Strategy - Ultimate, Major, or Minor Chest?

Many times until now, when the time came for EOS rewards, the choice was to go for the lower rarity Loot Chests, mainly because they had many cards to upgrade. However, this time I decided to do a more detailed analysis regarding the rewards, because in the higher card and scroll prizes the percentages are not that much higher.

To begin the analysis, we have a fundamental point: the glint cost of each chest. Minor chests cost 500 glint, Major chests cost 2500 glint, and the Ultimate chest costs 10000 glint. Using the Minor chest as a base, 500/500 = 1, meaning it's 1 to 1. In the Major chest, 2500/500 would be a cost 5 times more. Finally, the Ultimate chest would be 20 times more expensive since 10000/500 = 20. Therefore, one would expect the rewards to be at least 5 times better in the Major chest and 20 times better than the Minor chest in the Ultimate chest, right?

However, in some rewards, this difference does not occur. Regarding Unbidding Scroll Chests, if you analyze the Legendary rarity scrolls, all chests can only contain 1 unit, meaning there's no difference in quantity, and the probabilities are 0.25% minor, 0.75% major, and 2% Ultimate. Analyzing it the same way as Glint, the odds would be 1, 3, and 8. Strange, isn't it? The cost of the Ultimate scroll is 20 times higher, but it only has an 8 times greater chance of getting a scroll.

In this sense, it would be better to get the minor chests to obtain a scroll with the same amount of glint. However, the biggest difference in analysis remains in the Jackpot, but luck plays a big role in that. The minor has only 0.08%, the major 0.8%, and the ultimate 8%. If you were thinking of using 10k glint, the percentages would be: 8% ultimate, 3.2% major, and 1.6% minor. The difference is significant, but you have to evaluate all the other chances for each item to be certain.

The odds of getting an Epic or Legendary card in any of the chests are extremely low, so it stops being a percentage analysis and starts depending more on luck. Because you have to understand that there's a 40% chance of getting a card, and after that, the legendary percentage is applied. When we look at the number of cards, both common and rare, the higher the rarity, the fewer common and rare cards you will get.

Therefore, since I still need a few more levels to upgrade my common and rare cards, I'm going to open some Minor Chests for Scrolls and try my luck. The first use will be in the chests, with 50 Minor Chests, hoping to get some jackpot, card, or scroll of high rarity. I wasn't lucky; I only got 8 rare cards and 14 common cards, with 3 common scrolls. I managed to upgrade two common cards, which increased HP by +1.

I decided to get another 50 minor chests, which gave me 1 interesting rare scroll, but otherwise 19 commons and only 4 rares. This opening gave me enough to upgrade the Grove Doomblade and the Withered Old Sage, and once again two cards that increased HP by +1. The last chests contained the same things as before, with nothing interesting.

EOS Chest Strategy - Ultimate, Major or Minor Chest?
