Pepe Game: My Early Progress and Doubts About the PEPE Frog Battle Card Game

PEPE Frog Battle Card Game:
Pepe Frog Game is an online browser-based game available at pepegame.xyz. It is a card game and can be described as a simple version of Splinterlands, but with a fun froggy style.
The game is easy to play. Players own frog cards that fight battles, gain XP, and earn VOLT, which is the in-game currency. There are three different types of frog cards, each with its own abilities. Players can get new cards by opening packs or buying them directly from the market.
Cards with better stats give better chances of winning battles. Different types of Gems can be used to enhance card abilities. This game is not about fast profits. It mainly rewards patience, consistency, and long-term thinking.
My Journey So Far:
I started playing this game around the start of this year, and in this post, I want to share my progress so far, along with my doubts and personal opinions.
Cards:
To build my fighting deck, I bought two card packs and also purchased a few cards from the market. Slowly, I am trying to make a balanced deck that can perform better in battles.
Current Stats:
So far, I have reached Level 4.
My current XP is 20/80, and I am progressing towards Level 5.
Other stats:
VOLT balance: 201 VOLT
VOLT Power: 1029
GOV tokens: 3
Today’s Battle Stats:
Today, I participated in 8 battles in total:
4 Demos
4 Adventures
I lost one Adventure battle and won the rest. Overall, the results were decent, and I am learning more from every battle.
My Doubts About the Game
There are still a few things I don’t fully understand, and I am trying to learn them step by step. I would really appreciate it if experienced players could guide me on the following points:
How can I level up my cards?
What is the life of Gems? I noticed that they are not permanent items.
What is the actual benefit of VOLT Power?
What are GOV tokens, and what is their use in the game?
I think these questions are quite basic and should be included in the FAQ section of the game.
Pepe Frog Game feels simple but interesting. I am still in the early stage, learning how everything works. My progress may not look big, but it is honest progress from a regular player.

Any cards of the same type and level can be combined into more powerful cards. Gold cards can only be combined with other gold cards of the same type and level too.
GEMS used to be permanent, but Kenny has been doing more additions and changes to the game, and as part of those changes, GEMS are now used on use. Personally I don't like that they seem to be used after every use now, especially with the drop rate now so low. If I have to buy them to use only one time, then I'll just stop using GEMS entirely and just use the base stats of my cards.
VOLT Power earns an 11.25% APR, so you'll receive liquid VOLT every day.
They don't presently have a use, but they're planned to be a governance token for the game, to decide its direction. There will also be a market to buy and sell GOV at some point too.

This is a fair description of the game and how it works so far. I have been letting people play it while I'm building it, so there are rough edges. The graphics are not great and the game's FAQ page needs more content for sure. I'm glad @tydynrain stepped up to answer your questions here in the comments!
I'll add a little more.
On leveling up cards
You have 2 Rare Magic cards (the blue ones). In the "Game Menu" there is a line that says
View / Level Up or Sell Your Frog CARDS
If you click "View / Level Up" then in the next screen you can click "Select" on a card that matches in Type (Melee/red, Range/green or Magic/blue) and Rarity (Common, Rare, Epic or Legendary) and Level (1 through 8) and Foil (white background or gold background) with one or more other cards.
In your case, you can Select one of those Magic Rare Level 1 No Foil (white background) cards and then the system will just show the matching ones, and in your case that is one card.
Once you Select the second card, click "Level Up" below the 2 cards you have Selected.
Now you will Pick the Stat that you want to Level Up (Health, Armor, Speed, or Attack). Magic cards are usually second or third in the 3 card battle line up, and are used to attack from afar so maybe Level Up its Attack stat.
Once you pick the stat, the system shows you your new card!
Then you can level up other cards or go back to the Game Menu.
GEMs
GEMs add to the stat that is the same type as the GEM. So a Health GEM adds to the Health stat of the card you add it to, for example. The used to be reusable but they just changed to consumable. You can get Common Gems in your battle rewards if you Win the battle.
The chance of getting a GEM in rewards was 5% but now it is 50% so you should be seeing them about half the time you win a battle.
You can also Buy or Sell GEMS in the GEM Market which you get to from the GEMS link in this line in the Game Menu:

GEMs really help in the higher levels of each Adventure (there are 6 levels per Adventure) where the opponent cards are quite powerful. Don't use GEMs unless you really need them, and stock up on them for those higher harder levels so you can progress in the game.
VOLT Power
This earns interest and also earns you a weekly airdrop of GOV tokens. The interest has been the same since the game started but it could change based on the HBD in the @pepegamex account which is used to fund the interest to some degree.
GOV Tokens
These will be used for Governance. @pepegamedao will be a group of 3 players (possibly 5 in the future) who will be able to create items to vote for. There will be a few choices to choose from, similar to a multiple choice poll. Players vote with a vote strength based on their GOV holdings. The strength will be based on the square root of their GOV balance so that the larger GOV holders won't have the level of control over the lower balance holders that they would if the strength was linear.
For example, if one player has 1 GOV and another has 4 GOV, the one with 4 GOV does not have 4 times the vote, but 2 (square root of 4 is 2).
There IS NOW a GOV Market! Click Tokens in the top menu, then click the blue Market button under your GOV balance.
