Splinterlands Amazing Battles – Magic Battle!

And we decided not to use any ranged monsters to avoid any return fire due to the high mana cap and the availability of Lyr Deepswimmer and his return fire.

Our lineup:

Failed Summoner (magic reflect in case of a mirror summoner)

Centauri Mage (magic damage and return fire in case of snipers)

Kron the Undying (significant magic damage and heal with high HP)

Queen Mycelia (magic damage and armor support)

Goblin Psychic (good magic damage and tank heal)

and closing the setup we have Mycelic Slipspawn (taunt and significant magic damage).

14 magic damage output each round is excellent! If our opponent doesn't use Reflect Magic, their frontline is going down fast! We have five monsters benefitting from our summoner and two nice HP off tanks behind our Failed Summoner in case our taunt falls.

Opponent's setup:

He is using Obsidian, too, so we will have some magic used against us too.

We have Grund as a high damage dealer tank on the first position.

Followed by the ranged monster Beatrix Iron hand (good damage and initiative, but her ability is wasted on this ruleset).

Mythica Headhunter, great damage high initiative glass cannon, the magic flying Regal Peryton with additional magic damage buffed by the summoner.

Closing the setup we also have Mycelic Slipspawn followed with the 0 mana fungus fiend for extra sneak protection in case the taunt falls.

Our opponent has a whooping 18 damage output, but our taunts help spread the damage around.

This battle seems very close from the get-go. Still, I think we have the advantage here due to the mass of HP on our frontline, not counting the silver bullet of return fire on the second position.

Let's see how this battle goes!

Round 1:

The +2 armor given by Queen Mycelia is crucial this round as our tank survives and our opponent falls.

Bonus points to Mycelia for keeping our Failed Summoner alive one more turn, too, to get some healing from the goblin psychic.

Round 2:

Our taunt and Failed Summoner fall. Still, we managed to remove the Grund, reducing the damage dealt by our opponent by six and exposing his ranged low HP monsters on the 2nd and 3rd positions.

Round 3:

Beatrix goes down as she gets two damage returned, and after this, the Mythica falls by the combined return fire and magic from our team.

Even the Peryton takes some punishment too. At this point, the battle is mostly over.

Round 4:

Our team cleans up the remaining monsters with no more casualties for our team.

Conclusion:

Here, we had two main advantages, first is that our damage was focused and not split by the taunt monster.

And I think our opponent should have put the Royal Peryton in the 2nd position and not 4th because it is more resilient to the range and melee damage due to flying.
