Moonkarts is one of the rising gaming projects in the web3 space and is building its reputation in Hive blockchain and spreading beyond. This amazing arcade-style racing game allows players to drive kart-style cars in a complete 3D environment while enjoying the play2earn features and NFT asset ownership. This project is built by ArcadeColony and owned by Splinterlands. The best feature of this Racing game is its detailed 3D graphics, Great game mechanics and a well crafted economy with its in-game cards, tokens and items. I have a peculiar interest for Hive games and when I first discovered this game on Hive, I got excited watching its gameplay videos and play2earn feature and quickly after discovering this gaming project and seeing that it is built on Hive with my favourite gaming project Splinterlands behind this project, I quickly decided to go full in into this game and after 2 months of engaging, learning and playing this game, I can strongly say that this game has a potential to become one of the top games in the entire crypto world.
I have been slowly investing in this game to buy enough upgraded cards so that I can build a racing setup worthy to use in multiplayer mode and win races. Right now, I am trying to level up my Epic Kart card, the Quasar Sport, to level 2, and for that, I am keeping an eye on the kart market and have been sniping good deals on this card. Anyway, in my previous posts, I have talked about all the basic things, mechanisms, tokens and gameplay regarding this game and today, I will be talking about how to utilize the market and buy good card deals and build a great racing setup for cheap. Sp, if you are interested, let’s dive without any further ado.
To build a racing setup, first of all, you need at least 1 Kart and 1 Driver card, but there are also other types of cards that can be used in your racing setup to boost your performance. Depending on my decent budget capability, I chose the Epic Kart Quasar Sport as my Kart card and the rare Aurora Driver card and for other different types of cards, I am only using the common and rare cards I got from opening 5 Centauri packs.
So first and formost, you have to decide how much you can invest to build a racing setup and then, by observing the card market, we have to select a set of cards on which, we will be finding good deals by often checking the market for any new listing for those cards for lower price. Now, for example, I will be using the Quasar Sport card and would advise to follow the approach for each of the cards you want in your collection. Now, follow the steps below.
First, go to the Moonkarts Official Marketplace -> Link, where you can buy cards and also list your cards for sale.
As shown in the screenshot above, you can see all the listed Moonkarts cards based on their listing price in ascending order by default. You can change the order by Card circulation as well. Before selecting a card to buy, make sure it has enough stats to be used in competitive multiplayer races.
Now, on the Left side of the market page, you can see different filters, which you can use to filter out cards based on your preference. Here, different filter options are available, such as Card Foil (Regular or Gold Foil), Card Rarity (Common, Rare, Epic or Legendary Rarity), and Card Status (All cards or Cards Only For sale). You can also choose the game filter to buy cards of the other 2 games listed on the Arcade Colony platform - Splinterlands and Genesis League Goals.
Now, I am currently finding good deals on the Quasar Sports card and this card is an Epic card by Rarity. So, to filter out other rarity cards, I am selecting the Epic Filter option. The list of cards will quickly be changed after selecting this option, showing you only the epic cards, along with the stats like the price of the lowest listed card, the number of Cards For sale and Current Card Circulation showing at the top of each card. As you can see in the screenshot above, I easily find the Quasar Sport card and then, to view all the cards currently listed for sale, you have to just click on that particular card, so I am clicking Quasar Sport in this case.
Now, upon clicking, it will redirect you to a new page showing all the cards currently listed in the market for sale, sorted by lowest listed price. I have been following the market stat of this card for a while now and saw that generally, this particular card stays listed for 7.50$ per BCX. So, if I find a card listed lower than that, that would be a good deal to act upon. But this is indeed a time consuming process and a game of patience.
In order to buy, select the card you want to buy and then click on the Buy button located at the upper left side of the list. You can also select multiple cards and buy them under one transaction, provided that you have enough money in your Moonkarts wallet.
Now, after a week of inspecting, I finally found 1 good deal of a 3 BCX card listed for 17$. If you calculate, it's 5.666$ per BCX card and if you compare, it is cheaper by 1.833$ per BCX, which I consider a good deal. I actually found this deal as P2P in the Moonkarts Discord from a fellow investor and to maintain security, I asked him to list the card on the market for me to buy so that we don't have to trust each other for this deal. Anyway, after he listed and notified me, I quickly selected and bought the card.
Upon selecting the buy button, it will redirect you to the buy page for that card. Here, you can use both of the Moonkarts tokens - Credit and Script. To avoid value fluctuation, I only use credit tokens to buy cards and would follow that for this time as well.
Surprisingly, I found another jaw dropping deal after 2 days, a 1 BCX Quasar Sport card for only 5 USD, and obviously without any further thought, I immediately loaded my wallet with another 5k Credits token using Hive and bought the card in like no time. So till now, I am only been able to increase my total Quasar BCX count to 5 and would need another 5 to reach level 2.
Now, in case you don't have enough tokens in your Moonkarts in-game wallet, you can simply buy the required amount directly by choosing either the ‘Get More Script’ or ‘Get More Credits’ options, which will take you to that token’s buy page. Once arrived, you can use hive keychain to use Hive token for your purchase, or you choose other broader options like Paypal and Coinbase Commerce. For my case, I used Hive of course and bought the required 17,000 Credits.
Now, in case you have enough BCX cards to reach the next level, you should do that and test the card with updated stats in the race track. However, an Epic card needs a total of 10 BCX cards to reach level 2.
Right now, I have only 5. But still, after every purchase, I quickly merged the cards because together they produce more Fuel when being staked with just 1 Script. Right now, I am earning 70 Fuel per day with my 5 BCX Quasar Sport card, which is boosting my Fuel Depo rapidly now.
