So I’ve been on Hive for a while, mostly doing content creation, curating and just appreciating other people’s posts. I haven’t really dabbled in the games or dApps we have here because… idk, none of them ever grabbed my attention. Plus, figuring out new stuff can feel overwhelming, right?

But recently, I started playing around with trading tokens. Nothing fancy, but enough to notice the DENAR token popping off. Apparently, it’s tied to this new game, Crownrend, and this week there's some buzz around it.

I’ve been searching for a Hive game to try for ages, and nothing really piqued my interest. I felt too late to enter games where the conversations and posts on communities are no longer for starters. I felt left behind.

Crownrend, though, just launched, so everyone’s starting from ground zero. That’s what got me.

I love the idea of getting in early and figuring things out alongside everyone else instead of feeling like I’m years behind!

In a Nutshell...

MINING: If you’re into semi-idle games, it’s a good fit. You mine DENAR by boosting your DOMAIN stats, which is basically just investing in the right areas—attack, defense, or income.

ATTACKS: It’s not complicated: you raid other players for DENAR, and they can raid you back. (Pro tip: don’t blow all your DENAR on one stat, or you’ll get wrecked)

You get 1 raid per hour (called CHARGES), so you have to pick your battles carefully.

MARKETPLACES: There’s also a marketplace where you can buy fortifications or other items (right now, mostly with HIVE). I’m guessing more options will roll out as the game develops, but it already feels promising!

STARTING STAT POINTS: I paid 20 HIVE to start and got 10 DENAR. It’s a one-time fee, which is nice. DENAR works like “stat points” in an RPG (if you played RPG games like Diablo where you boost hero's stats, you'll relate!)—you spend it to grow stronger in specific areas of your game. The cool thing is that you can also use these stat points as the primary game currency.

DEFENSE: The tricky part? Protecting it. If your stats aren’t balanced, someone will raid you and take your hard-earned loot. You can grind for DENAR, but there’s also passive income if you strengthen your defenses. Here's a list of my most recent failed defenses:

The Battle Hall

The economy is wild right now. The DENAR-to-HIVE ratio is looking 🔥, and I’m hoping more people join in. The game is simple but fun, and it feels like there’s real potential here. If you’re into strategy with a bit of grind, Crownrend might be worth a shot!

If I'll be able to pump my stats well in game, I'll post more about it. I would love it to feel more "grindy" that way it feels more balanced than if people easily swap their HIVES to DENARS or boost with in-game purchases.
