Greetings, Splinterlands warriors!
Brawls in Splinterlands always feel like doing a neighborhood night watch. Sometimes it’s dead quiet, sometimes it’s chaotic, and sometimes you’ve barely settled in when someone suddenly yells, “Enemies incoming!” The difference? Here we’re not holding bamboo spears—we’re rolling in with Quora Towershead, Olivia of the Brook, and lately, that new troublemaker everyone’s talking about: Mage Wagon Escalation.
And honestly? This week’s brawl wasn’t exactly the kind of run that lets me kick back with a big grin and a double shot of coffee. The meta is shifting fast. Escalation cards are popping up everywhere, and they’re getting more annoying by the day. Monsters that used to be just fillers are now stepping up as full-on executioners in the arena.

As usual, I got slotted into Fray 12—at this point it feels like my reserved seat at a coffee stall. Out of all available matches, I played 6 actual battles. Picked up 2 free wins because the opposing guild didn’t fill their slots, plus 1 more because an opponent fled. So in total, I walked away with 7 wins and 2 losses, contributing 21 points to the guild.
Not terrible… but compared to previous runs, something felt off. Especially since our guild only managed to finish 6th place—which is pretty rare for ClaNFT.

Still, rewards show up like a postman who doesn’t care whether you’re celebrating or sulking:
The guild has won spoils of 39 Crowns in the latest brawl! Also, each fully participating member was awarded 1,950 Merits and players with a spellbook were awarded 17.472 staked SPS.
Yeah, SPS isn’t exactly flexing right now. But that’s crypto for you—sometimes it rises like a balloon slipping out of a kid’s hand, sometimes it drops like your mood after losing three ranked matches in a row.
Out of all this week’s fights, one battle keeps replaying in my head.
24 mana cap. Rulesets: Up Close & Personal + Lost Legendaries.
Normally, that’s my cue to confidently lock in Quora Towershead. That card is basically a good luck charm in guild brawls. Once Quora starts stacking Bloodlust, it’s usually game over—your opponent’s just counting their last breaths.

But this time… my opponent wasn’t the type to panic.
They brought Olivia of the Brook.
And that’s when reality gently pulled up a chair, sat me down, and gave me a friendly pat on the shoulder.
My usually unstoppable Quora suddenly felt toothless. Olivia held the line like an absolute tank.
That’s Splinterlands for you. Sometimes you don’t lose because your team is bad—you lose because your opponent simply read the game better.
And honestly? That’s what keeps this game interesting.
If you want to see how my Quora got taken down, check out the battle here:
The best part about brawls isn’t just winning or losing. It’s the sense of camaraderie that’s hard to put into words. When one guildmate wins, everyone feels it. When someone gets absolutely crushed, the guild chat lights up—sometimes with strategy talk, sometimes with jokes about monsters that “must’ve had the wrong coffee” because they keep missing attacks.
And yeah, this week taught me something important:
The meta never stands still.
Old strategies won’t carry you forever. Escalation cards are forcing players to rethink everything. If you don’t want to fall behind, you’ve got to keep learning.
So that’s my brawl story this week. Not exactly sweet, but not bitter like black coffee either. Sometimes you need to lose—just to keep yourself grounded when you win.
My advice to all Splinterlands warriors out there:
Don’t be afraid to lose in brawls. More often than not, that’s where you discover your best strategies for the next fight. And if you’ve got a solid guild? Hold onto it tight.
Because in Splinterlands, a good guildmate can be worth more than a legendary card.
