After my last post earlier this morning, I created a checklist of things to do over the ensuing 12 hours, and this included getting some sleep as I transition from a nighttime to daytime schedule over the course of 24 hours.
I actually posted a few Threads delineating my activities and progress with the checklist. Here's the final checklist.
I'm actually somewhat impressed that I managed to accomplish this much. I'm not sure from where I summoned the energy to get through all of this in such a short time period, as I'm definitely not functioning nearly at 100% right now. But... I did it. Well, as much as was feasible, anyway.
I couldn't reach my Grandmother's doctor's office in time today. There was a silly AI answering, and every time I spoke, it made a fake 'typing" sound as if it was recording what I wrote. Such a silly gimmick - entertaining, but also insulting to my intelligence. I wonder how many people fall for this goofiness. Anyway, I ended up reaching it outside of office hours, so I'll try again tomorrow sometime during my board review. I'll have 0 hesitation missing 5-10 minutes of this so I can help my Grandmother.
Stretches went well - my flexibility is making progress, and I can tell that loosening my pelvic muscles improves my prostate symptoms consistently. I'm actually taking a lower dose of the Flomax that I've been using for months. Maybe I can get off of it completely soon - that's the plan. Subsequently, I'd like to stop requiring NSAIDs, even though I'm taking 1-2 tablets per day now, at most.
Meditation didn't go too great today. With some classical music in the background, I'm able to picture some beautiful scenes in my mind that correspond with the music. However, there was A LOT of background noise (some of it included the news), and it was louder than the clasical music, so I had to focus very hard on the music, and I succeeded sometimes. Regardless, the ability to refocus on the music many times, and sometimes for a fair amount of time (meaning more than 5 seconds lol!), is a testament to consciously improving concentration and focus. This is going to pay major dividends to my mental health and concentration in the long run.
So now I'll go eat and sleep. It's not going to be a full night's (8 hour) sleep but it'll be more than the 3-4 hours that I tend to get when I switch from night to days. I hope I'll be more awake tomorrow than I was last Friday, as I still plan to go without coffee. If I can manage this now, I can probably manage without coffee for the rest of my life lol!

Hey, it is great that you are seeing improvements in your listening and focusing skills.
Well done! Productive! I know the feeling calling doctor's offices for relatives medical issues and they are closed. Frustrating as hell! Great job!
