Specifically I am referring to the current modes available in Fortnite.
Battle Royale Chapter 7
Also, tons of XP quests available in OG
They are giving us a real Winter in OG, thankfully.
OG is great because it's the base game. This is Fortnite, and when you take away all the extra awesome stuff they add every 2 weeks, it's still just a solid battle royale game. I started in Chapter 2, so this lets me practice like an OG myself.
Team Rumble is gone, which is sad but Ranked Reload is growing on me. Instead of coming back unlimited times, the rounds take place on several smaller POI islands that cycle and change every few minutes. Load in and Loot up, you get 2 Respawns until the endgame when they are disabled, or until the entire team dies.
There are supposedly teams of 8, but only if you have them all in your own lobby I guess because it won't matchmake for more than 4. So invite some friends!
Blitz is fun, you run a bit faster but there are no reboots unless you have a teammate. They were giving out crowns like crazy but I hear they were disabled, now we get Blitz Wings that grow as we level up. I play occasionally but I prefer Battle Royale myself.
Rocket Racing is fantastic but I don't think there are very many racers. I need to finish and publish a map this year, I already am an Epic Creator but I have been so busy. Super Red Vs Blue is my favourite boxfight map, give it a try and a thumbs up too!
For those who loved playing Guitar Hero and Rock Band, seriously go buy a guitar at Walmart electronics that is compatible with your PC or PS5 and rock out on Festival. Main Stage is where you can play songs with friends as a band. You can even rock out freestyle during Battle Royale games, the remixes are crazy as you can switch between instruments and rhythms and songs. It's something that will need a while post probably.
Lego on Fortnite is actually amazing. As a Lego Master Builder myself, it's an amazing game. I don't spend enough time in here but I should. Right now, Ninjago has sent my character on some mountain quest and i've unlocked some new moves. But I build three whole food farms on a Survival map that some of my friends have been invited into.
And then there's Brick Life, sort of a fun friendly city to run around in. I've dropped by a few times, I bought a Hoverboard which itself is astounding. When I was younger, I stuck a Magnet on the feet of my Lego android spaceman, and he surfed with his backwards at around the house on his Hoverboard too. So playing this game is literally so cool.
I spent a lot of time in Middle School learning about how to make video games, but I found now that I am older that it is becoming possible to do some of those things I only once dreamt about. That would take 13 hours to render a short 3dsmax animation frame by frame. Now, I spend an hour or two most days playing Fortnite with my friends now because, for a long time I didn't play any. I took a long break from playing video games, just work work work for a long time, but my friends encouraged me to have a bit more fun.
Along the way there were crazy Battles, some laughs, some tears, some Adventures, and I became more competitive. Spending time off Social Media, playing an eSport and improving my skills, taking breaks from long study sessions, logging on and just talking with my friends over the microphone. It's kind of a great way to hang out over long distances, I mean there's Zoom or Discord too but Unreal Engine let's us have some incredible experiences together. Lego never dies. The imagination is limitless, within the lines of the software or real life Lego blocks. At some point I think they should have, "riftable bases". Something a bit like Dr.Who's TARDIS. Only we wouldn't call it that for legal reasons, at least not without forking out royalty money. It would basically be like your own "cave", that could be landed anywhere on the map. Bigger on the inside than the outside. I think this move would bring back more Lego traffic, everyone would now have the task of developing their, "inner world". It would stray from the formula of, have a newer more powerful boss that you need newer loot to defeat. Would appeal to the builders perhaps more so than the brawlers. I think the spirit of Lego is more about building, since we can have both we have both.
