The Mysterious room

The stranger at the subway station handed me a key and whispered "Don't lose it". He was a young man and had a nice smile and a nicely shaved beard. He was lost in the crowd before I could ask him any question. I stood there puzzled about the whole event when suddenly I noticed some group of guys walking in, looking in every direction in search of something, quickly I put the key into my pocket and sat amidst the people.

Thoughts started to sneak into my mind wondering why the key was that important. The key looked old fashioned, with signs of rustling, and it seems to have come from the old, centuries ago. Out of curiosity, I visited Fred, an archivist and enquired if he had an Idea about the key. Fred took the key and observed it for a while, then went into his lock and came out with what looked like a fit to it. He searched through a few books while I sat at the other end observing him. Suddenly, I noticed a look of surprise on his face, then a sudden hastiness as he flipped the next page and a keen interest.

"Impossible" he uttered after a few minutes. "Who gave you this key?" He asked almost immediately.
"A stranger at the subway" I replied truthfully.
"Do you have any idea what the key is for?" I asked. He held my hands, and let out a smile, his countenance brightened.
"We are rich" he said, "the key is a portal to late Alexander's wealth. It was believed that Alexander had thrown the key at the end of the earth, but he it is".

I wasn't an archivist and did not know any history. I stood there puzzled about the whole story, but wondered where the mystery Alexander's room is.
"So how can we have access to this lock?" I asked him.
"A phrase, three words phrase. Only who gave you the key knows the phrase" he said. "Did he tell you anything?" He asked.
"Don't lose it, was all he said"
"That's it, it wasn't an instruction, it was the phrase. Tomorrow, we'll start an adventure to Alexander city" he informed me. Now my life was about to change, maybe for the best or worse, I wasn't prepared for it.
