I woke up in a world where no one remembered me. The world was different from where I came from, everything looked huge, five times larger than my size. On the deserted soil where I lay were dry bones of what seemed like that of a giant human scattered on the field. kneeling beside me was a giant, sniffing on me, wondering what creature I was, his breath so heavy that I could hear the sound of his heartbeat.
"Hello," I said, waving at him. He only groaned, rolling me over and with his fingers he held me up. He mumbled a few gibberish as if trying to tell me something, then dropped me down and walked away into the woods.
I followed him into the woods which led us to a new world. The technology there was more sophisticated than the present. I may have teleported into the future, I thought as I gaze at the magnificent activities that went on in this world. I had just walked into the second gate when one of them stopped me and spoke in machine language.
"Who are you?" One of them interpreted. He was the only one among them who had a smaller body with beards covered on his face.
"St-, eh, ste-phen" I muttered as I answered, " I found myself here.
I watched quietly as he interpreted to the one who oversees the planet. He asked a few more questions, then asked the guards to put chains on me.
Later that night, the old bearded man sneaked into the place where I was kept.
"It seems something is happening to our world, a few people have teleported to this strange land. If we don't do anything, we'll be doomed".
He held my mouth as I tried to speak, bewildered that himself had the same predicament as me.
"You wouldn't survive here for long, your body will depreciate faster here. We need to find a way to go back to the past" he continued. It was at this moment it dawned on me that my assumption was true, I was in the future.
"So what should we do?" I asked.
"We'll steal the time machine and travel back to Earth" he said, " but first there are ninety nine doors, only one leads to the time machine. One mistake and we're doomed forever" he added.
Looking at the bearded old man standing before me I knew this new world wasn't a place for us. I was ready to take the risk. It no longer mattered what the other doors held, I wasn't ready to be trapped in the future.
I wish I find a time machine too :)
A nice story of the unfamiliar world. I would have love if time machine is real😀
