Testing My Limits Against Eagle Libre! | Splinterlands Pit Challenge

Hello fellow Splinterlands warriors! It's @zoe01 here, back with another update on my Splinterlands journey. While I've been grinding hard in ranked matches lately, today brought another exciting turn on the arena floor. My daily wheel spin handed me another opportunity that I couldn't pass up.

So, I unlocked another Pit Challenge. I couldn't resist taking on another heavy hitting opponent to grab some bonus rewards and push my account progress forward.

Lux's Favor Wheel & Pit Challenge Unlock

Before diving into the arena action, here is a look at today's daily streak spin on Lux's Favor. I got another great boost to my stash:

  • +200 Sparks
  • +20 Bonus Sparks
  • Pit Challenge Available

Getting these extra Sparks right away is such a boost as I keep saving up towards my big goal of 30,000 Sparks for the Spark Shop. The Pit Challenge unlocked after a long time and it was time to leap back into action and that's why I jumped right in and clicked go now and I just didn't want to waste any time, hehe.

I decided to play against stronger opponent today, because last time I was playing safe. So, I selected the Hard difficulty option to face off against a formidable opponent.

Pit Challenge: Facing Eagle Libre

  • Opponent: Eagle Libre (Hard)
  • Reward: 1000 Sparks
  • Mana Cap: 99 Mana
  • Ruleset: Standard (No changes to mechanics)
  • Active Elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Life, Death, Dragon

My Lineup Layout & Battle Strategy

Facing a Hard-difficulty boss with a massive 99 Mana Cap called for maximum power. I opted for the Dragon Archon team layout again to unleash strong synergy across my units.

  • Summoner: Aurendrak (Gives Flank to Position 1)
  • Position 1: Buns the Unseen (Melee Attack / Reach / Void Armor / Silence)
  • Position 2: Gorm the Vengeful (Melee Attack / Opportunity / Magic Reflect / Affliction)
  • Position 3: Vaelok (Magic Attack / Flying / Demoralize / Life Leech)
  • Position 4: Necrulencian Thief (Melee Attack / Sneak / Poison)
  • Position 5: Sorrow Harvester (Magic Attack / Weaken)
  • Position 6: Black Widow (Ranged Attack / Poison)

Eagle Libre entered the arena as a brutal titan boasting 40 Health and a massive 8 Melee Attack power. My strategy was to use Demoralize from Vaelok and Silence from Buns the Unseen to suppress damage, while stacking debuffs like Weaken, Poison, and Affliction to chip down Eagle Libre's massive health bar.

The battle turned into an intense, grueling showdown. My debuffs slowed Eagle Libre down and my backline worked hard to apply status effects. However, Eagle Libre's raw strength and relentless offensive output proved to be too much for my squad to handle.

By Round 7, Eagle Libre managed to overpower my remaining forces.

It ended in a defeat this time but testing my limits against a Hard Pit Fighter was an incredible learning experience.

Post-Battle Reflections & Progress

Even though I didn't take home the 1,000 Spark reward from Eagle Libre today, the session was still a net positive thanks to the 220 Sparks earned from Lux's Favor. Taking risks against harder bosses in the Pit Challenge is super thrilling and it gives me a clear idea of how to optimize my lineup choices next time.
I'm definitely going to tweak my strategy and try again when the next Pit Challenge unlocks. The battle intensity in this mode is unmatched.

your flank ability was useless :D

Monsters with opportunity always attack target, which have the lowest hp!

The best monster you chosen was ranged monster with poison, rest were average, because boss had thorns.

Poison not stack, so one is enough.
