Hello fellow Splinterlands warriors! It's @zoe01 here, back with another update on my Splinterlands journey. While I've been grinding hard in Modern ranked matches lately, today brought a completely fresh surprise. Instead of the usual ranked battlefield, my daily wheel spin landed on something special that took me on a detour from standard gameplay.
So, I unlocked a Pit Challenge. If you don't know what is it or those who haven't tried it yet, then let me enlighten you, this is not Frontier or Modern ranked mode it's an exclusive game mode where you battle against tough Pit Fighters for extra rewards.
Before I describe about my gameplay into the arena, I want to share my daily streak spin on Lux's Favor, look! I have got some sweet bonus resources to help build up my stash:

I'm so excited for the match as I already received these extra Sparks. It's pushing me towards my goal right now as I save up to hit my goal of 30,000 Sparks to grab a powerful card from the Spark Shop. Finding the Pit Challenge unlocked meant I could immediately challenge a Pit Fighter and earn even more. When I saw it for the first time, I was curious to see what's in there so I clicked Go Now .

After that I got into another phase, where I saw options but the first one said it's easy so I decided to click that one. I thought I was going to play with this card but then I realised it was the option to choose opponents not your team, hehe.

So I was greeted with a massive 99 Mana Cap. With every element available and standard rules in play.
Pit Challenge: Facing Al the Mountain
I had total freedom to stack my team with high-cost, heavy-hitting monsters, luckily there was no mana restrictions.

Then I had to choose element then I thought that dragon looked cool so I wanted to have it.
For this high-mana battle, I decided to use new cards which I have never seen before. My team with the essence of a Dragon Archon. Choosing Dragon unlocked versatile combination potential across the roster.

Al the Mountain came into the match boasting 40 Health and solid attack stats, I never played with the monsters I have recently picked so I was not sure if it was my cup of dea. I just trusted my instincts and picked all melee attackers and one magic user.

The battle lasted 7 intense rounds. My frontline anchored by Buns the Unseen absorbed heavy damage while Gorm the Vengeful, Vaelok, and the rest of my damage dealers systematically wore down Al the Mountainβs massive health bar. By the end of round 7, finally we won the match and it was a clean victory!
Defeating Al the Mountain paid off instantly with a neat reward:

I wish to get the opportunity to play this pit challenge again, right now I'm kind of obsessed with it. I enjoyed playing this more than frontier and modern ranked matches. It was truly an amazing experience for the first time!

Have you unlocked the Pit Challenge from your daily streak wheel yet? What high-mana Dragon combinations do you like to run when you get 99 mana battles? Let me know in the comments below!
