Social Media Challenge - Mimicking To Victory

Prelude
Good day to all, hope that you are doing well and battling often in Splinterlands. It is time again for another battle sharing. Today's battle is going to be a little long but it is very interesting as one of my cards managed to have a whole array of abilities copied onto herself and sustaining through a rampage of heavy attacks till we reach fatigue and grab the win. This card is actually one of the Epic Rarity Soul Bound Reward Cards, Olivia of The Brook.

This card is unique as she possess an ability called Mimic which is attained when this card becomes level 2 and that is where all the beauty of this card is. Very new ability and very unique.

Mimic - At the beginning of round 2 and each round following, gain a random ability from opponent team and also 25% chance to gain an ability from an attacker when hit.

So let's dive right into the match and look at how the match went.

Selection Analysis
Both me and my opponent used life splinter for this match which will be interesting as there will be tendency for us to be using the same cards.

In my selection, I used the Conscript Summoner in order for me to be able to used higher level cards as my General Sloan is still at level 1, but by doing so, I used up 2 more mana than usual and because of Silenced Summoner, I cannot call upon Captain Katie. So the lineup went with Nimbledook Explorer at the front tank with the protect ability to give the lineup additional armour. Standing behind it is Aves Sturgis which gives weapons training to Nimbledook Explorer and allowed 2 magic attack to be learnt. Up next will the key card of the lineup, Olivia of The Brook. She is placed at this position so that she can strike with her opportunity and gain more abilities from opponent lineup every turn. The back 3 will be my favourite trio (Iziar, Meriput Magician and Spirit Hoarder) that heals and diverges damage from front to them to keep every other card longer in the battle field.

Now to what my opponent fielded. While being also a life splinter lineup, there is significant differences between our lineups though some elements looked really similar. Common ones will be Spirit Hoarder and Iziar whom I know my opponent had the same intent by fielding them. A much stronger tank in Drybone Barbarian had been selected which is boosted by Adele Brightwing whom will be able to resurrect any card one time. One other different card fielded is Djinn Renova whom has both strengthen and also triage. This meant that it will be tough to bring down Iziar from my opponent's side which will pose a big problem for me.

2 very different kind of lineup from life splinter. Tank difference, healing setup different and I had something up my sleeve in Olivia. Let's battle!

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - After a round of exchanges, I know my Nimbledook Explorer will be going down after being cleared off its armour but the backline is relatively untouched. Let's see what ability Olivia gains next turn.

Round 2 - Olivia gained flying this round as Nimbledook Explorer get smashed by Drybone Barbarian. No more protect ability on my lineup as I continue to try sustaining against this big tank that strikes real hard.

Round 3 - Important ability gotten which will help Aves Sturgis sustain is the repair ability stolen from Adele Brightwing. This allows Olivia to repair the armour of Aves Sturgis to keep it alive from the big smack from Drybone Barbarian. Everything else in the backline is holding up strong.

Round 4, Olivia gains Void this round and becoming an ability garden. Not much chances, still similar exchanges but we do note the reduced health on Drybone Barbarian whom did not get any form of healing.

Round 5-7, A very dragging exchange of attacks but healed up and cycle repeat till we saw a breakthrough with Aves Sturgis finally taking out Drybone Barbarian but was resurrected by Adele Brighwtwing.

Round 8, At last, Drybone Barbarian is gone for good as we now face Adele Brightwing at the front. Olivia continues to build up her ability collection as we grind through opponent lineup from the front.

From this stage, I will only be sharing on key miletone as this match is going all the way till fatigue rounds.

Round 11 - Adele Brightwing falls to Aves Sturgis.
Round 13 - Spirit Hoarder falls to Aves Sturgis.
Rounds 14 and 15 - Aves Sturgis fell to Djinn Renova but was resurrected in round 14 till it fell again in round 15.
Round 18 - We are down to fighting last card in opponent lineup after taking out Djinn Renova as we move towards fatigue rounds.
Round 23 - After continuous attacks and with the help of fatigue, we finally won the match in this round.

Whew, what a long match. But we managed to get the win needed and Olivia had 3 rows of abilities gotten from this match which actually saved us with the abilities gotten especially from Adele Brightwing.

Battle Summary
A very long and draggy match but this is where Olivia of The Brook take advantage as she will start gaining all the abilities from opponent lineup. Might seem insignificant but by gaining all the abilities, we actually get an advantage over opponent. The mimicking is an awesome ability to have and best when we drag the match out.

Wrap Up
Didn't expect to be able to mimic so many abilities and then using them to my advantage to help my lineup breeze through an almost fully developed lineup from my opponent. A nice win to make my day.
