Community Engagement Challenge: Modifier Mastery - Deflecting The Counterspell

Prelude
Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. Today's topic is on Modifier Mastery and I do have such a match to share with everyone. So let's dive straight in to the match.

Counterspell

Ever since the release of Conclave Arcana, though I manage to get the card only recently into my lineup, I know this card will come in handy and allow me to do well in Counterspell Matches.

And this particular card is none other than bella Ratajowlski. It might look just like an ordinary bloodline archon but the deflect that it gives to the whole lineup really turns things around and help to make your matches a breeze when it comes to counterspell modifier.

Having deflect in counterspell matches is such an amazing thing which will be illustrated in today's post.

And in today's post, I will showcase based on that.

Selection Analysis
In today's matchup, we have every single splinter available for selection. And with a tonne of mana available for this matchup, I chosen to go with Life Splinter and having Bella Ratajowlski to lead the line which will be heavy on the Ulund Bloodline.

To lead the lineup, as mentioned will be Bella Ratajowlski, whom is a life splinter bloodline archon that gives the lineup deflect and shield for Ulund Bloodline. For the tank, it will be the 11 mana meatshield Ulundin Overseer whom I will be giving it magic attack through the next card Moxian Rebel, you must be thinking if I am crazy since it is a counterspell match where I will take back any magic attack struck on my enemy. But fear not, the lineup will take care of itself. And as mentioned, 2nd card will be Moxian Rebel and followed by Nimbledook Explorer whom will give the lineup additional armour while getting booster by Moxian Rebel to be give magic attack as well. Next in the lineup is Thunderous Herald, which is a 2 magic attack card that is from the Ulund Bloodline. Next is thehealer of the lineup, Meriput Magician and last but not least, Mystic Mudbinder that is thick in health and also does good magic damage.

Opponent used Incessant Sage as archon which is a life splinter foundation archon that gives the lineup +1 armour. First up is Saltwraith Buckhead which is a very nice stat card as a tank but with the drawback of possible exhaustion. Next in the lineup is the foundation card Twice Yester Knight as a secondary tank. The next card is Olivia of The Brook which is not easy to handle considering it having the mimic ability. And following in Janni Rebel that gives everyone additional melee attack. The next 2 cards are familiar cards in life splinter lineup whenever we are on frontier matches.

Am I doing a suicide by having so many magic attackers in my lineup? Did I make a mistake?

Let's go to the round by round synopsis.

Round by Round Synopsis

Round 1 - Everything got off to a flying start with an early pick on my Moxian Rebel and killing it. Opponent had thick armour and all but the power of deflect is showcase here. We did not see any damage for every magic attack that I throw on my opponent. And that's the beauty of it.

Round 2 - Olivia had been giving me problems where it took out my cards so easily with Nimbledook Explorer the next victim. Otherwise, whole lineup is intact with me killing both the front 2 tanks my opponent had.

Round 3, With Olivia out of the way, my continue to add pressure and now we are pushing towards clearing my opponent's lineup one by one.

Round 4, While we took out Janni Rebel, Vengeful Monk saw an opening and took out Thunderous Herald.

Round 5-6, One by one we inch forward and by round 6, we manage to clear everything on the board to secure a win!

Battle Summary
And there we have it, a crazy win using magic attackers in a cunterspell match and won with ease. Opponent's magic attackers all had to take back their magic attack but we don't due to the deflect given by archon.

So in future, whenever you face a counterspell match where everyone will load of armour and other defences, why not use deflect to just bulldoze through your opponent's lineup.

Wrap Up
This is so fun as we totally nullify whatever returned from counterspell. What seemed to be a stumbling block become the key to winning the match. Love how the match went and how we overcome this. And not forgetting, this also works for range attack return and thorns as well.
