Community Engagement Challenge: Avatars and Exemplars

Prelude
Hi all, good day to all of you. It's time again for Community Engagement Challenge. Today's topic is on Avatars and Exemplars. And I have to say, this is an exciting new chapter for Splinterlands. Never would I have thought that this will be coming to the game because so far it had been just card skins etc, but nothing that personal. Now is the time to step into the big world out there, showcase the capability of the game and bring in even more people to join us in this journey.

Avatars
Now we start off with the one that creates our own personal identity, the launch of Avatars. Since the launch of the game, all we had was that Splinterlands badge with our userid/nickname beside it and nothing more (maybe just some generic art if we owned Runi). With the launch of Avatar, I can finally personalize a badge that suit my own character that represent me.

I personally think that the default looks very much like my own personality and it belongs to the human race. But if you think choosing Human as your own avatar is boring, you can explore changing to another bloodline. From elves, orcs, dwarves and may more races (since there are many more boxes waiting to be filled).

On top of designs and stuff, one can also put up their achievements onto their avatar to let people know what you have achieved. So far badges available for selection include:

• Land titles
• Champion Point milestones
• The year we joined Splinterlands
• Highest leaderboard rank achieved

This avatar alone gives a showcase of your character and also sums up all that you've achieved. You story is all summarized into this avatar and even before playing a single card, people will know who they are up against.

Exemplar

The thing that will set Splinterlands apart from other games. More often than not, it is just skins, decorations and such but to be truly immersive into the game, I really think not many have been able to do so. In the past, we can make cards etc, but most of the time, it will just for display with no real purpose but the boldness of the Splinterlands developers have mored one step ahead, having your own card and developing it over time. How cool is that?

This is no longer playing cards from an expansion, but it is playing our own card, deciding what we want on it, be it melee, range or magic, your card, you decide! How you want to upgrade? It is all up to you. This is really the YOU moment when you have full control.

The interface is easy to maneuver and able for you to undo if you planted something wrongly. However, to further level it up we will need to spend Glint to do so. For now, I am not touching it as I would want to further build up my collection.

But for the record, this is really a new concept that could bring us far. For now, the use of exemplar is limited to challenges and tournaments but not for rank battles.

I like how it is described, create an avatar and them bring it to life as an exemplar! This is just the start of something amazing, so let's watch out for it and join along, stay connected and enjoy the game fully.
