Prelude
Greeting to all, how are you of you doing this lovely mid week and welcome back to another new post on Adapting to Modern. We will continue looking into the foundation cards as these cards will somehow become part of the available cards that we can play during normal ranked battle and truly I use them in my ranked battles. I play whenever I can and still trying my best to get the cards to be maxed. With more and more cards coming into the gameplay, we really need to speed up our learning to be viable in the modern gameplay.
For me, these foundations cards are important because they give newcomers a decent push to strengthen and expand their collection until they have sufficient DEC/SPS or through other methods of capital injection to purchase main set packs or buy cards off the market that can truly elevate their lineup in ranked battles. In this series, I will be deep diving into various foundation cards that we can obtain from playing frontier matches and opening foundation packs.
Foundation Set Cards
For the deep dive and analysis, I will be discussing about the growth of the cards and if they are able to synergize with modern cards to aid you in your ranked battles. This time round, assessment and recommendation will be within the card's own paragraph than having a segment on their own, so take note in the structural change in the post. Let's begin today's sharing.
Sorrow Harvester

Let's begin looking at the foundation card, Sorrow Harvester. Personally, I think this card is very important for death splinter for foundation set especially by adding a 2nd health reduction when played together with the death foundation archon due to it having weakness from level 1 and striking for 2 damage. To top it off, it is also an elf, so if playing with Conclave Arcana elf archon Kaylia Silverleaf, it gets execute and become way more lethal.
In terms of growth for this card, the only growth it gets is only on the health portion. Nothing else scales during levelling up.
In terms of rating for this card, based on a score of 5, it will get about 3.2/5. A very strong addition to collection with good attack, good bloodline for synergy and also an amazing ability to debuff opponent. The only downside to this is really just the low speed of this card. Otherwise, you will go against this in many matches when death splinter is featured.
Little Sister

Now let's look at another card from death splinter, Little Sister. This is another card that is always seen when facing death splinter and also a strong addition to the collection. Almost like a twin sister to Sorrow Harvester. This is a legendary card but it truly awakes only at level 2 when it gains its second magic attack and flying.
In terms of growth for this card, an additional magic attack and flying gained when it levels up. One of the best level up for foundation when a card totally lift off and become very powerful. Flying makes this card immune to earthquake and an additional attack allows it to kill better and leech across situation when there is void.
In terms of rating for this card, it will take a rating of 3.5 out of 5. Personally this card is almost like the soul of death foundation when it manages to level up and strike for 2 damage and also having flying which is rare in foundation set which can help in earthquake matches and slowly suck out the health of your opponent. A very strong card but do note that the Conclave Arcana have a rare card that is of similar nature with better stat line which has way more room for growth.
Wrap Up
Though most of the foundation cards need a little more mana that cards from the main sets, when they come into the matches, they help to fill mana gaps in our collection that we are lacking or when there is just this odd mana or two that you cannot field anything. Be sure to make full use of them, synergize them with your other cards from the main sets or reward cards, make them viable and win matches so as to earn more glint as we continue building up our collection. Do also take note of the bloodline to see how you are able to get them some boost from their fellow bloodline cards as well. Hopefully this series of post will help new players learn more about these foundation cards and improve their gameplay in ranked battles as they grow and affirm the footing on Splinterlands.
Let's continue to grow and find path in modern ranked battles as we journey on playing Splinterlands.
