It is true that you cannot progress in Splinterlands without regular investment, but before forming a mental image based on that statement alone, consider the explanation behind it. While it is a fact that reaching higher rankings requires regular investment, that investment does not necessarily have to be monetary. Here, you can advance simply by playing the game consistently; thanks to various reward systems, you can earn numerous prizes dailyâincluding a large number of cards. Admittedly, this approach is slowerâobviously, if you build the best possible deck through purchases from Day 1, you will improve your ranking much fasterâbut it would be entirely incorrect to claim that there is no other way. You can progress gradually while enjoying the game every day, as you will steadily earn rewards that allow you to upgrade your assets to higher levels, thereby improving your in-game performance and qualifying for even better rewards. So, while it is true that you cannot advance in Splinterlands without regular investment, that investment can simply be the love and time you dedicate to the game. â€ïžâđ„

Following this strategy, Iâve built a solid deck in the game. While I have made some external investmentsâmostly in Archons, since they are rare to obtain as rewardsâI also gradually level up cards and incorporate higher-level Archons, which keeps improving my gameplay. Today, Iâm continuing this approach by upgrading three "Foundation" cards to Level 2 simultaneously. The first is a Fire-element melee attack card; thankfully, its "Reach" ability comes in handy at times, as its low health makes it unsuitable for frontline deployment. Its attack power is already decent, and its speed is superior to most cards in the Foundation set; the only real drawback is its health, as cards with such low health rarely survive beyond one or two rounds. However, the upgrade from Level 1 to Level 2 has boosted its health by +1; while it remains quite low, it is certainly better to have 3 health health points than 2.

The second card in today's upgrade lineup is a Water-element ranged attacker. Right from Level 1, it possesses a "True Strike" ability, along with 1 basic ranged attack power, 5 health points, and a speed of 1. Looking at these stats, it would have been ideal to see a +1 increase in both attack power and speed, given that the health is already decent. Typically, common cards see an improvement in only one stat at Level 2; however, in a rare twist, this card sees changes in two statsâthough not necessarily the ones I would have preferred. Its speed has increased from 1 to 2, and as a bonus, its health has risen from 5 to 6âa fantastic upgrade. While it would have been amazing if the attack power had also increased, the actual improvements are impressive, especially since I hadn't even expected that much.

The third and final card for today is the Earth element melee attack card, Dread Tafarian. It is my favorite card of this element because I simply don't have a better tank in this set. Even at Level 1, it boasts 1 melee attack power, 1 armor, 6 health, and 2 speed; best of all, it possesses a 'Heal' ability, making it an even better choice for a tank role. Think of it this way: having decent health and armorâcombined with the 'Heal' abilityâallows it to hold its position for more rounds, giving the rest of the team ample room to keep attacking the enemy continuously. That is why this card is my top pick for a tank when playing with the Earth element. At Level 2, its speed increases by +1, enabling it to perform even better on the front line. Personally, I would have been happier with a +1 boost to its attack power, but the speed increase works well too; since this card functions more as a defensive anchor (with armor) than a primary attacker, the added survivability is actually more beneficial. Hopefully, with these upgraded versions of the cards, my gameplay will improve as well.
