Splinterlands: Upgraded 2 cards to Level 3 and 1 gold card to Level 4!šŸ”„

Just two or three days ago, when I purchased four Gladius sets, the duplicate cards I received allowed me to level up some cards already in my deck. One of these was 'Alva the Crusher'—a Gold Foil card—which I had prioritized because I already owned an identical Level 3 version; after receiving another copy as a reward, I had two Level 3 sets, which I could combine to create a Level 4 card, just like I had done with others. I couldn't make a post yesterday, so I’m taking the time today to level up these three cards: two will advance from Level 2 to Level 3, and 'Alva the Crusher' will move from Level 3 to Level 4.

The first card is Krash Wanderford, who—judging by his name and appearance—resembles the Indian superhero Krrish. Although this Fire-element card doesn't come with a weapon by default, it can be equipped with one if paired with a card possessing the "Weapon Training" ability; however, it is formidable even in its base form. At Level 2, it boasts 7 Health and 6 Speed, stats that improve to 7 Health and 7 Speed by Level 3. You might wonder about the utility of its speed since it isn't an attacking card; while that’s a fair point, remember that it can become attack-ready with "Weapon Training." Strategically, if you include this card in your team alongside a supporting unit, its high health allows it to withstand and unleash heavy attacks on the enemy. Furthermore, in addition to the "Bloodlust" ability common to its set, it possesses "Swiftness," meaning you can use it not just for offense but also to bolster your team's capabilities. Its speed is truly impressive, and it also boosts the speed of all other cards on your team by +1.

The second card I’m upgrading today is "Alva the Crusher." I already had a regular foil version upgraded to Level 3, and I also possessed a Gold Foil copy at Level 3. Now, I’ve acquired another Gold Foil copy at the same level; combining the two would result in a Level 4 card. Initially, I considered keeping the three Level 3 copies separate, thinking that combining two of them would only yield a Level 4 card. However, I realized there was no point in overthinking it—especially since the set isn't even tradable. Ultimately, my freedom to use these cards is limited to my own battles anyway, so keeping them separate made little sense. I decided to combine them to create a Level 4 card, which boosted its melee attack power by +1. Now, in addition to the Bloodlust and Shield abilities, the card boasts 3 melee attack power, 3 armor, 7 health, and 3 speed.

The third card in today's upgrade is the Life element's melee attacker, Hugo Strongsword. I own this card in a Gold Foil version at Level 3; additionally, following today's upgrade, the Regular Foil version has also been upgraded to Level 3, granting it +1 Speed. However, I had hoped—or rather, I would have preferred—a +1 boost to its attack power instead of Speed. Even at Level 3, the card feels underwhelming due to its basic attack power; while its other stats are quite good, the 1 melee attack power makes it unlikely to be picked for a team, as there are many other options in this set with similar mana costs that offer superior attacking capabilities. Still, you never know what kind of situations might arise in Splinterlands where cards like this could suddenly seem like the best fit.šŸ”„

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!šŸ”„
