Yes, the progress is a bit slow—moving up just one tier after starting the season in Silver 1 is indeed sluggish—but that doesn't mean I’m less engaged with the game; in fact, it’s quite the opposite. I spend more time on Splinterlands these days than in previous seasons, but half of that time goes into playing Frontier mode. I usually switch to Modern mode only after getting bored there or completing all the daily challenges; consequently, the first few battles are spent just readjusting, and even when I do perform well, I struggle to maintain consistency. Still, as the saying goes, "better late than never." I’ve finally unlocked the Gold League. My goal now is to avoid dropping below this league before the season ends and, if possible, finish the season in Gold 1 or Diamond. But before all that, unlocking this league has earned me a welcome gift of 7 Minor and 4 Major chests.

I used to overlook the specific rewards I got from different chests, but recently, after seeing posts from other players who paid close attention to them, I realized it matters—after all, you expect better rewards from Major chests compared to Minor ones, so it helps to know exactly what comes out of each type. This time, I opened all seven Minor chests and received a total of three Common cards, two Legendary Potions, one Common Scroll, and one Alchemy Potion. Among these, I frequently use the Life-element melee card Palimpsest in battles—it performs quite well in low-mana matches, especially when paired with Captain Frankie or a card possessing the 'Inspire' ability. I also use the Grey-element ranged attacker Oshannus often. However, I’ve barely used the Grey-element melee card Ironwing because I have a 1-mana alternative in my deck that I prefer; still, considering these were just Minor chests, the rewards were decent, so I’m happy.

Next, I opened the Major Chests—the ones where you’d naturally expect better rewards, and rightly so, given that the game itself classifies them as superior. I’d say the rewards from two of these chests were quite satisfying; I received 3 Legendary Potion Charges from one and 5 Alchemy Potion Charges from the last—undoubtedly great rewards. However, one chest also gave me 2 entries. While some might consider that excellent, they’ve never been of any use to me, so you can understand why I don’t get particularly excited about getting them. Aside from that, the very first Major Chest yielded a Common card that, honestly, doesn't seem useful to me at Level 1. Although it can be summoned in battle for low mana, its attack power is basic, and its speed is incredibly slow. Combine that with low health and the fact that it would likely attack last in the first round—or might not even get a chance to attack at all—and you can see the issue. I don't know if this is the "right" way to evaluate cards for team building, but I do consider these small details when selecting my team; so, while it’s a decent reward in a general sense, it’s just "okay" from the perspective of actual utility for me.
