Initially, I believed that the most important thing for a card to win a battle was to be heavily armed, so I focused on cards that were capable of performing as many massive attacks as possible. But later, I understood that each attribute in your card's stats in Splinterlands has its own importance. Just as attack power is crucial because it's how you inflict damage and knock out enemies, speed is also crucial because, say, your slow speed prevents you from performing your first attack, and the enemy takes advantage of that and inflicts heavy damage on you with the first strike. Similarly, your health and armour are also important because, with low health, you won't be able to last many rounds on the battleground, so what's the point of being heavily armed without other supporting stats?

This is a scene from one of my battles today, in which both players apparently knew before the battle began that Earthquake and Poison were included in the ruleset. This means that from the start of the second round, every non-flying card will suffer -2 health damage from Earthquake, and then all cards without immunity will also suffer -2 health damage from Poison. In short, -4 health damage to almost all cards from the start of the second round is a certainty, which we already knew. Still, if you focus more on your numbers, attack power, or variety of attack types than your health, there's no bigger mistake than this. In a normal battle, you always have to pay attention to stats balance, but even in the earthquake-prone battleground with Poison, if you don't understand that your greatest strength here is your health only, then the enemy might not have to work very hard to defeat you.

That is exactly what happened in my latest battle: despite knowing the rulesets, my opponent included cards in his team with very low health and also low attack power. I don't know why the opponent ignored the need for more health. However, I see special abilities in the enemy cards like Demoralise, which reduced the attack power of all my melee attackers by -1, which was undoubtedly a big loss for me. But with these abilities, a large number of cards, and attack power, it was more important to understand that in this battle, we first need to protect ourselves from the bad weather of the battleground and then think about fighting. Well, because of this small big mistake, my cards didn't have to do much in this battle, and the opposing team was killed in the harsh weather of the battleground, and I won the battle. This proves that sometimes you just need to focus on defence rather than aggression. ✌️
