Splinterlands: Shopping in the guild to build a strong Gladiator army!🔥

Today I bought another Gladiator pack for 2000 Merits. I actually had a little over 3600 Merits, so I could have bought approximately 400 additional Merits to reach 4000 and then purchased two Gladiator packs at once. However, I didn't want to spend extra money on Merits right now, because Merits can be earned through Guild Battles, and I don't use Gladiator cards that much anyway. In Guild Battles, only one Gladiator card can be used per battle, and in the normal Modern Battle mode, where I currently play actively, the use of Gladiator cards is prohibited unless there's a specific ruleset like "Are You Not Entertained." So you might be wondering, what's the point of this Gladiator army then? Well, to use these cards without any restrictions, you have to play battles in Wild mode, which I've heard is the most difficult battle mode in Splinterlands. Since I'm still trying to improve at this game, I'm currently sticking to Modern battles. I haven't set a specific timeframe, but I've decided that once I reach the Gold or Diamond league in Modern battles, I'll consider myself ready for Wild battles.

Let's see what cards I got in this pack.
From a rarity point of view, I only received one rare card, and the rest were common cards. However, in the Gladiator card set, I've specifically noticed that you can't look at the common rarity cards as just ordinary cards, because compared to any other card set, you'll find these cards to be different and much stronger. A major reason for this is the common Bloodlust ability, which increases all of your cards' stats by +1 every time a card is knocked out. These stats include armour, health, speed, and attack power. I myself have witnessed winning several battles that I was almost certain to lose, simply because my card, thanks to the Bloodlust ability, knocked out the opponent and became stronger in every way by +1. For example, look at one of these cards, Katrelba Gobson. It's a common card, but its Double Strike ability increases its 2 melee attack power by +2, making it 4, and it also has the Sneak ability, which gives it the power to target the enemy's last card. Although its health is quite low, by placing it somewhere in the middle of the lineup and including a healer in the team, you can take full advantage of it. Similarly, another common card, Chimney Wallstop, doesn't look common or like a level 1 card at all, because it has a massive 5 melee attack power, along with the Reach ability, and excellent health and armour. The only drawback of this card is its speed, but imagine, even if it attacks last, its attack will be so powerful that the enemy might not even be able to withstand a single attack. And if that happens, its Bloodlust ability will immediately activate, and all its stats will increase by +1, and then its speed will also become 2 instead of 1. So my point is that while there are some restrictions on the usage of these cards in modern battles, the current team-building process will give me a free hand to use these powerful cards in Wild Mode battles at their highest levels in any way I want.🔥

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥

In Wild it's the same as in Modern for the use of Gladiators. Wild is definitely more complex because all cards ever made can be used.
