Splinterlands: Listing my first card for sale!πŸ”₯

I purchased this Common Rebellion Water card during my early days on Splinterlands because, at the time, it was the best card in the Water element from a budget-friendly perspective, which you can understand by looking at its stats. But what makes it special is its ability: with the Shield ability, this card provides 50% protection against physical attacks and 100% protection against attacks with 1 attack power. With this feature, this card was best placed at the front of the lineup as a tank. Later, I purchased a few more copies and upgraded it to Level 2. At Level 2, this card's already impressive 3 attack power increased to 4 melee attack power. This meant excellent health, armour, speed, and shield for a great defensive position, and 4 melee attack power for a powerful attacking position. However, after some time, Commander Slade in the same element seemed like an even stronger option, and after renting and testing it for a while, I purchased that card as well. Now, in 99% of my battles in this element, I use Commander Slade as my tank, and it impresses me almost every time. Since I rarely use the Giant Alpine Skink anymore, I thought I should sell this card and save some DEC.

I need to sell this card at Level 2, so I first checked the current listings in the marketplace to get an idea of the price. I found that this card wasn't listed at all at Level 2. As you can see in the image above, the card is only listed at Level 3 or Level 1. Since I have a Level 2 card, to estimate its price, I selected five copies of the Level 1 card and checked their combined cost, which came out to $0.25. The reason for doing this is simple: combining five Level 1 cards creates a Level 2 card. So, if someone wants this card at Level 2 and it's not listed at that level, they would have to buy five Level 1 copies and combine them. Therefore, the combined cost of five Level 1 copies equals the cost of a Level 2 card.

But anyone can do that kind of purchasing, so how will my listing become attractive? Well, for that, I need to keep the listing price of my Level 2 card slightly lower, at $0.25. So, I went back to my card holdings, selected the card I wanted to sell, and clicked the "List for sale or rent" button. (If you're a completely new player, let me tell you that you can't sell every card in your deck because most of them are soulbound. So, make sure to unbind your cards so you can freely sell or rent them.) After selecting the card and clicking the "List for sale or rent" button, a pop-up window opened where I could proceed with the renting or selling process. The system showed that the lowest listing price was $0.21, but as I explained in the process above, I didn't see this card listed at Level 2, and combining five copies of the Level 1 card would make its price $0.25. So, based on my analysis, I'm setting the price at a slightly more competitive $0.22. I don't know how long it will take to sell, and I'm not in a hurry, but this is my first listing for selling a card.

Please note that you must carefully read the rules before confirming your listing, such as 1 DEC listing fee will be charged. All sales are paid in DEC tokens. A 6% fee will be deducted from the sale price (4% goes to the market and 2% is destroyed to reduce the DEC supply). The List Fee will be charged to your DEC balance. If there isn't enough, then the system will attempt to charge your CREDIT balance. Cards that are listed for sale for 30 days without being purchased will be automatically removed from the sales market.

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!πŸ”₯
