Splinterlands: Ended the season in Gold Tier 2 and then used those tons of glints to purchase a Legendary Draw!πŸ”₯

Yesterday, upon reaching Gold Tier 2 for the very first time, I was overjoyedβ€”so much so that I decided to take a short break immediately afterward to ensure I could conclude the season within Gold Tier 2 itself. And that is exactly what happened; naturally, since I wasn't playing, my ranking would only reset once the season ended. I took this step because I didn't want to take any risks; otherwise, had I dropped even a single rank, my seasonal reset would have landed me in Silver 2 instead of Silver 1. Over the last 3 to 4 seasons, I have played this game far more than I did during the entire previous year. During this period, I added several new cards to my deckβ€”one of which, an Archon, became the very first card I ever upgraded to its maximum level. Subsequently, I incorporated several other cards into my deck specifically to support and synergize with it. Consequently, my strategic approach improved, and I explored various new synergies and tactical maneuvers. Employing one such strategy, I secured victory in the battle that unlocked Gold Tier 2, surpassing the 2200-ranking milestone and breaking a personal record I had set previously. While my overall rank on the leaderboard wasn't particularly impressive, my maximum win streak improvedβ€”reaching a high of 6β€”and my win rate also saw a significant boost, climbing to 54.49%. Furthermore, alongside all these achievements, I earned a total of approximately 100,000 Glint this season. ✌️

Now it was time to utilize this Glint. While every player technically has various options for doing so, based on my experience thus far, I find the "Rarity Draws" to be the best choice. Specifically, for the past four seasons, I have focused on purchasing the Legendary Drawβ€”a single instance of which costs 70,000 Glint. This makes it 233 times more expensive than a Common Draw and 140 times more expensive than a Rare Draw; in other words, for the 70,000 Glint I spend on a single Legendary Draw, I could instead purchase 140 Rare Draws. However, my Guild Leader advised me that while Common and Rare cards can be acquired through gameplay and various other means, obtaining Legendary cards is the most difficult challenge and largely a matter of luck. Therefore, obviously, if you are able to earn that much Glint, purchasing the Legendary Draw is the best course of action.πŸ”₯

As you can see, the probability of obtaining a Gold Foil card from this is merely 1%β€”a figure that increases to 2% with the use of an Alchemy Potion. However, this probability remains so low that pinning any hopes on it would be akin to deliberately setting yourself up for disappointment. Therefore, go ahead and use your Alchemy Potions, but do so without harboring any specific expectations; that way, whatever outcome the draw yields, you will be able to appreciate it. This is precisely the approach I have adopted, and it is for this very reason that I no longer experience disappointment. This time around, I once again utilized an Alchemy Potion, andβ€”for the very first timeβ€”I received a Grey Magic card. This card boasts a Magic Attack power of 2 and carries a Mana cost of only 5, meaning you can strategically deploy it in low-Mana battles. This card is particularly valuable because, relative to its Mana cost, both its Attack power and Speed are above average. Furthermore, its "Snipe" ability grants it the power to target the first non-melee card positioned behind the card in the first slot. However, its Health is quite low, which leaves it vulnerable to direct attacks from cards possessing the "Opportunity" ability; nevertheless, by providing it with appropriate protection, it can be effectively utilized as part of a well-devised strategy. While this card may not be immediately useful to me right now, it will become significantly more powerful once upgraded to the next levelβ€”an upgrade that requires a mere three copies for cards of Legendary rarity. This, too, stands as a distinct advantage of acquiring Legendary cards.πŸ™‚

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!πŸ”₯
