Splinterlands: Discovered another awesome tank (Gelatinous Cube) in Wild Mode!🔥

I’ve been playing Splinterlands for over two years now, and for the most part, I used to consider a heavy melee card to be the best tank. Of course, this doesn't apply to 100% of situations—since the ideal tank can vary depending on the conditions—but generally speaking, unless there are specific rulesets involved, I’ve always heard that a heavy melee card is the best choice for the frontline tank position. However, while playing in Wild Mode this season, I discovered an amazing card that I now consider my best tank yet: the Gelatinous Cube, which I obtained from the reward card set. It is a non-attacking card from the Neutral element, though it can be granted the 'Weapon Training' ability; since I don't own any cards with that ability, I simply use it purely as a tank without any attack capability. I have this card at the max level, giving it a total of 13 health points, but the real highlight isn't just the health—it’s the fact that this card possesses three fantastic abilities: Scavenger, Heal, and Void.

The Scavenger ability grants this card a +1 health boost whenever any card from either team is knocked out; the Heal ability restores one-third of its maximum health each round; and the Void ability provides 50% protection against magic attack damage. Together, these three abilities transform the card into such a formidable shield that your other attacking cards, positioned behind it, can freely launch continuous assaults on the enemy. I say this not just based on a this battle, but because I have observed this card's exceptional performance in numerous battles throughout this season. However, I do not use it in every battle—since it is a "no-attack" card, it occupies a valuable slot—but in battles with a mana cap of 45–50 or higher, I deploy it as the tank and fill the remaining positions with the heaviest-hitting cards possible. Even if the opponent has powerful attackers, this tank holds its ground for at least three rounds, allowing your other cards to gain the upper hand.

As I mentioned, pairing this with a melee or magic weapon training card can yield tremendous benefits; it not only acts as a shield but also inflicts heavy damage on the enemy. However, I’ve observed that—at least in the lower ranks—this isn't strictly necessary, as the difficulty level in Silver II isn't particularly high. Besides, if you fill the remaining slots in your lineup with powerful heavy-attack cards, there is no doubt your team will put up a fierce fight against the opponent. For instance, in this specific battle, I positioned both ranged and magic attack cards—specifically the best heavy-attack options available—behind this tank. Since melee cards were banned in this match, using the Gelatinous Cube as the tank was an even more compelling choice; its performance was outstanding, as its health actually increased from 13 at the start of the battle to 14 by the end.

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy. Add good cards to your deck, but also work on improving your strategies, and strive to win as many battles as possible!🔥
