Alright, so in this week's Community Engagement Challenge, I'm going to talk about some really awesome tips to help you climb your rank in Splinterlands, which will eventually make you eligible to win a lot more rewards and with higher rankings, the battles will get even more exciting. 🔥
Splinterlands is a web3-based game built on blockchain, but you can still enjoy #freetoplay without purchasing a spellbook and not only this, you can also earn a lot of rewards here without spending anything and add various great cards to your deck. But by purchasing a spellbook, you get connected to the veins of this game, and many more tradable assets are also added to your potential rewards. Along with this, when you improve your performance and climb the in-game rank, your rewards, such as the game's main #SPS token and reward currency #Glint, which you earn for winning each battle, increase manifold. For example, earlier in the Bronze League, I had roughly received a reward of up to 0.1 SPS for winning each battle, but in Silver, I have earned a reward of more than 1 SPS for winning each battle. Although the increase in rewards also depends on the cards you select, a better ranking leads to better rewards. After which, you can increase your profits manifold by staking the SPS tokens earned in the game, in addition to fixed returns and can also buy and sell many other assets like cards, DEC, SPS, etc. in the open market.
Knowing all these benefits, anyone will surely be excited to know the amazing tips to climb the ranking, so let's start! 🍿
Here, I am assuming that you have recently joined Splinterlands. Initially, the mechanics of this game, numerous rule sets, stats, and cards may bother you a bit, but then, while playing the game, you enjoy it a lot and also try to get better at it by looking at the defeats as a challenge. In this, you may find it a better option to purchase powerful cards because ultimately, battles will be won with good cards, and only then will you be able to improve your ranking. But in my Splinterlands journey, I observed that instead of purchasing cards in the beginning, it is a better option to rent cards season by season. Not only because renting is cheaper than purchasing, but also because the strategy of renting cards allows you (who is still a novice in understanding the game mechanics) to test the performance of the cards in different battle conditions and choose the cards that best suit your battling style.
I've made this mistake myself when I purchased a card that looked very powerful and then realized that it is not useful in most battle conditions because either its mana cost is too high or the speed is too low or I purchased a level 2 card when all the Archons I have are level 1 or I just don't know how to use the card's ability in the best possible way. That's why it's a better option to rent cards until you've fully tested them. Then, using the right strategy with good cards will definitely help you improve your ranking.
Use your Glint rewards periodically! As you progress a little, you will find that your Glint rewards are also improving. It is worth noting here that using Glint rewards, you can also shop for rarity draws, loot chests, and many other resources from the Glint shop. I have won many amazing cards in these rarity draws, with which I also improved my strategies and last season I also climbed up to 1500 ranking, then, this season, due to some personal reasons, I could not play the game much, and my ranking deteriorated a bit. Here I will give you the third tip that keep playing this game as much as possible. Well, I don't need to say this because once you start enjoying this game, you cannot ignore it even if you want to, but remember this is not a web2 game where playing seems like a waste of time, if you play it correctly, then it can become a very good passive income source, so giving a few hours daily to this game opens many ways for you to get real rewards.
Last but not least, try to be a part of a Guild. Brawls are like a subgroup in the game in which a group of players fight battles among themselves. The type of battles in a Guild is different from regular battles. A schedule is followed here in which we fight battles by forming teams, after which the rewards won are distributed among all the players on the basis of performance. Its rewards include Merits and SPS tokens, with which you can shop again with Merits in the Brawl shop. In the Brawl I am a part of, we can only purchase the Gladius pack for now, but this pack also gives amazing rewards. Each pack contains 5 random cards from the GLADIUS Gladiator card set, with at least one guaranteed rare card or better. These cards can play an important role in your battle strategies. Although in regular ranked battles outside the guild you can only use the cards from this pack with a specific ruleset or Archon, these powerful cards will add a different strength to your team and eventually you will perform better in battles than before, improving your ranking and your rewards.
These are some very useful tips based on my own experience to improve your in-game ranking. I hope you will take full advantage of them. Thank you for reading this blog. Have a nice day! :)
