Splinterlands: By learning from my opponents, I too modified my strategy!🔥

During this and the previous season, I frequently suffered defeats at the hands of opponents fielding cards like Katrelba Gobson—cards equipped with both 'Double Strike' and 'Bloodlust' abilities. It wasn't that I didn't own the card; rather, whenever I included it in my lineup, it would easily become a target for the enemy's 'Opportunity' ability cards and get eliminated by the first or second round, so I had stopped using it altogether. However, after losing to opponents multiple times, I realized that while the card was highly effective, I needed a solid strategy to utilize it to its full potential. So, in today's battle—governed by rules restricting play to melee cards only, but also featuring the "Are You Not Entertained" ruleset that allowed me to use a Gladiator card—I decided to summon Katrelba Gobson, but this time with a different plan.

As you can see from my lineup, my team certainly has two extra cards compared to the opponent's; however, technically, I only have three main attack cards. The primary purpose of summoning the three cards placed at the end of the lineup was simply to shield Katrelba Gobson for a while from enemies possessing the 'Opportunity' and 'Sneak' abilities—something you can observe in the second screenshot. I had no idea what kind of cards the opponent would use—after all, no one ever does. So, relying on past experience, I made an educated guess and added cards with lower health than Katrelba Gobson to the team to guard against the 'Opportunity' ability. I also placed a card with a low mana cost but high strength at the back of the lineup to protect against 'Sneak' attacks, and that strategy paid off. Although the opponent didn't have a card with the 'Opportunity' ability, they did have a powerful 'Sneak' card that knocked out my defensive card in a single hit—but that was exactly part of my plan.

Since I had placed Katrelba Gobson somewhere in the middle of the lineup, the card had ample time to fully utilize its abilities—landing a 'Double Strike' to knock out an opponent and then boosting all its stats by +1 via the 'Bloodlust' ability. Rather than just recounting the events of the entire battle, this post focuses on how I brilliantly deployed a card that was powerful in attack but weak in health, thereby exerting immense pressure on the enemy.

Splinterlands isn't an easy place, but that's what makes it even more fun. A perfect strategy takes into account many factors, including stats, abilities, rulesets, mana caps, and more. That's why it's even more important to consider all these factors when developing a strategy.
