You may recall that just last season, I explored a brilliant synergy: whenever an allied card possessing the "Painforge" ability took damage—even from one of my own cards—that card's power would increase by +1. With every such attack on my own cards, the Painforge card's health would decrease by -1, but simultaneously, its attack power would rise by +1. I saw an opportunity in this: if Painforge cards—specifically those with high health to begin with—were positioned alongside a "Shock Trooper," their combined magic power could inflict devastating damage upon the enemy. I have been employing this strategy for the past two seasons, and from my own experience, I know that it works exceptionally well. One of the cards central to this strategy—the "Torrent Sniper"—I had purchased just last season; I would typically position it right next to the Shock Trooper.

Now, for the next phase of this strategy, I wanted cards featuring the Painforge ability positioned on both sides of my Shock Trooper. Consequently, while searching the market this season using the ability filter, the second card that caught my eye was the Water Element's Zargrul. However, the issue was that this Legendary card only becomes equipped with the Painforge ability once it reaches Level 3; yet, at Level 3, the card was simply not available for rent. Therefore, I searched for it at its maximum level—Level 4—where it was available for the entire season at a total cost of 341 DEC, averaging approximately 19 DEC per day. Without hesitation, I added it to my deck. At this point, I felt extremely confident because—as I mentioned earlier—I have witnessed the impact of this synergy on the battlefield dozens of times; previously, having just a single Painforge card alongside the Shock Trooper was enough to overwhelm an opponent. Now that my Shock Trooper would be flanked on both sides by such cards, this combination would undoubtedly prove devastating for the enemy.

At the maximum level, this card acquired the Taunt, Bloodline Tribute, Painforge, and Expose abilities. I will explain these abilities in detail over the next few days; however, for now, take a look at all of its stats at the max level. For my strategy, the two most crucial elements here are the Painforge ability and a robust Health stat—qualities that help this card stand firm in situations involving Shocktroopers, Earthquakes, Reckless attacks, and similar scenarios. However, another major problem arose here. I had assumed that I would be able to utilize this card alongside the max-level Archon, Marlai Singariel—which I had purchased from the Frontier set just last season—but that turned out not to be the case. When I noticed that this card wasn't even appearing as an option to select in several battles, I conducted some research and discovered that this particular Archon can only be paired with Legendary cards up to Level 2. This came as a major shock to me, as I do not possess any other Archon with which I can utilize a max-level Legendary card. And without a supporting Archon, I couldn't even use this card at its maximum level—which means that, despite spending the resources, my strategy remained incomplete.

There was simply no other option left but to purchase a supportive Archon. I knew this would entail significant expense—something I really should have considered beforehand. However, had I chosen to avoid this cost now, the investment I had already made in renting a max-level Legendary card would have gone completely to waste. Consequently, I visited the market and settled on Gorgug the Endless—a Water Element Archon that perfectly fit my requirements while keeping costs to a minimum. To summon a max-level Legendary card using this Archon, I needed it to be at least Level 7 for the duration of a season; however, the rental cost for a Level 7 Archon actually exceeded that of the max-level Legendary card itself. 😊

So, I simply searched for a max-level version of the Archon; the lowest listing I found was for a 16-day rental at a rate of 59.639 DEC per day, totaling 954.224 DEC. I hadn't planned for this expense, but a single ill-advised decision left me with no choice but to proceed. No matter—I now possess everything I need to execute my strategy in the best possible manner. All that remains now is to wait for a battle with a sufficiently high Mana cap, where I can comfortably deploy these cards. Based on my experience with this synergy thus far, I am highly confident that the results of this update will be nothing short of spectacular—and I will be sure to keep you updated on my progress throughout the week.
