Splinterlands: A battle in which I inflicted significant strategic damage on the opponent even before the battle began!🔥

It’s not that I haven’t played other exciting battles like this before, but in Splinterlands, the situation doesn't arise after you build your team; rather, the conditions are set first, and you must construct the best possible team to suit them. Rarely do you get a battle where the mana cap and rulesets allow you to utilize all your best cards in a single lineup. This is one such battle: the mana cap was 72—effectively unlimited—allowing for an average of 12 mana per card across a full set of six, which grants complete freedom regarding which cards to summon. Additionally, the "Equalizer" ruleset adjusts the initial health of all cards to match that of the card with the highest health, further liberating your choice of cards—provided you select from the available elements, which in this case were Fire and Death.

Based on lessons learned from the previous Wild season—specifically that players in Wild mode don't just use ultra-powerful cards to deal massive damage but also actively try to cripple the attacking capabilities of your cards—I rented specific cards with these counter-abilities for the current season. You can see these in the last three cards of my lineup in the screenshot above: Ash Mirage possesses the 'Headwinds' ability, which reduces the attack power of the opponent's ranged attackers by 1; Tinderlock has the 'Silence' ability, which lowers the power of the opponent's magic attackers by 1; and finally, Emberguard has the 'Demoralize' ability, which reduces the power of the opponent's melee attackers by 1 right at the start of the battle.

Alongside that, I had another card deployed on the second line of defense—Arkemis the Bear—which possessed a "Halving" ability that cut the enemy card's attack power in half after every successful attack. Strategically, the ultimate powers of my cards weakened the enemy even before the battle began; once the fight started, Arkemis the Bear further slashed the enemy card's power by 50% with each strike. Consequently, the opposing team seemed puny against mine, as my cards dealt far more damage than the enemy could inflict in return each round. This was because my cards—equipped with Headwinds, Silence, and Demoralize abilities—had specifically targeted the opponent's high-attack cards, rendering their power balance completely ineffective in this battle.

With that much power, the opposing team couldn't last long; I won decisively before even a single one of my cards was knocked out. Although two of my cards had taken significant damage, they were all still ready to attack. This strategy involved balancing offense with abilities designed to weaken the enemy. While the cards used weren't originally part of my deck—meaning I had to rent them—the experience was still enjoyable. I have similar cards for other elements as well; for instance, I frequently use 'Arkemis the Bear' (from the Grey element) in battles, and its 'halving' ability proves very useful.
