Imagine waking up in a small village somewhere in the Splinterlands universe. There are no battles happening, no enemies approaching and nobody preparing for a fight. It is just another ordinary day.
I sometimes think about what daily life would look like for the creatures we see in Splinterlands. We usually meet them during battles, but surely there is more to their existence than fighting. They must have homes, neighbours, favourite places and little routines that make up their everyday lives.
In a Fire village, mornings might begin with the sound of furnaces and people preparing their tools. Some creatures could work as blacksmiths, making weapons and repairing equipment. Others might run small shops or prepare meals for their neighbours. With fire everywhere, I imagine these villages would be full of bright lights, warm buildings and plenty of activity.
A Water village would probably be much quieter in some ways. I picture homes built beneath the surface, with creatures swimming between different parts of the community. Some might spend their mornings collecting food, while others explore the surrounding waters. There could even be places where young Water creatures learn how to swim and navigate dangerous areas.
Earth villages might be surrounded by forests, mountains and farmland. Their inhabitants could spend time growing crops, building homes and looking after animals. I imagine older creatures telling stories beneath huge trees while younger ones run around playing.
Life in a Death village would probably look quite different. The atmosphere might be darker, and the buildings could have unusual designs. Still, I don’t think every creature there would spend its day doing something frightening. Some might enjoy music, collect strange objects or simply spend time with friends.
Dragon settlements are particularly interesting to imagine. With creatures of different sizes and abilities living together, their homes would need to be quite special. Some might live in mountain caves, while others could have enormous towers overlooking the land.
Of course, these are just my own ideas about what life outside the battlefield might look like. They are not confirmed details of official Splinterlands lore.
I think this side of the universe deserves just as much attention as the battles. A fantasy world becomes more interesting when we can imagine what its inhabitants do when nobody is watching. Even the strongest creature might have a favourite meal, a place where it likes to relax or a friend it visits every evening.
Maybe somewhere in the Splinterlands, there is a little village where the biggest concern of the day is what everyone will have for dinner.
