Splinterlands: My Lucky Jackpot Pull of King Erminaz Twincleaver

Happy Monday everyone, and to those in the US, Happy Labor Day. Enjoy the day off if you don't have to work like myself! Okay, technically I'm my own boss, so I chose not to work today... This weekend I was playing Splinterlands and got a very lucky jackpot pull, so I'm sharing it.

In Frontier Mode you can only play with Foundations cards. They have been recently expanded with some new jackpot cards that can be won through completing daily tasks (1.5% chance), bought with Sparks won daily by spinning the wheel of Lux's Favor, or for purchase on the market. These cards are shaking up the play in Frontier, as well as in Modern as they can be used there as well.

I pulled a King Erminaz Twincleaver, a rare life card. I didn't have one of these yet, so I was excited!

It's always fun to see the bonus card pop up at the end! It only happens about 1.5% of the time, so it is a rare occurrence.

This is a strong card, especially once levelled up. At level one it comes with Sneak allowing it to attack the opponent's last position card unless masked. At level two it picks up an extra melee attack to three and picks up Dodge giving it a 25% chance to evade physical attacks. At level four it picks up Double Strike, meaning it hits twice. Now that will be very useful!

These cards are bit expensive still, the best price today is $1.15. I think I will hold out to see if the price goes down before I purchase more copies to start upgrading. It will be nice to have a maxed out copy though!

This screenshot was taken after buffs are applied but before the action has started. There is a high mana cap of 80 with normal ruleset. With that high mana cap I expected to see some heavy hitters!

I chose Captain Frankie as my archon giving pierce and true strike to two of my units that I choose. For tank I used Doomshield Warden followed by Saltwraith Bulkhead. I then added some magic attack with Janni Rebel and Portia Nyr which both provide inspire to stack melee attacks. To round things out I used Olivia of the Brook and King Erminaz Twincleaver.

My opponent chose Sheng Xiao as archon, giving poison burst and corrosive ward to two cards on the team. The tank was also Doomshield Warden followed by Mantaroth. Next up they chose Night Reaper followed by the heal card Meriput Magician. To round out they used Aranduriel and Songale. To be honest, I don't have many dragon cards so many of these I'm not all that familiar with as of yet.

Here you can see the new card in action very nearly destroying the last card on the opponent's team.

By round two this is how things were looking, poison burst affected the last three members of my team, since they all are lower health it's not a good thing!

Near the end of round two my opponent is down to two cards, it's not looking good.

By round three it's all pretty much over...

Saltwraith Bulkhead takes the final deathblow. Great game to my opponent! I had a few advantages, I had a higher level archon with strong melee attacks. King Erminaz Twincleaver may not have been a huge factor in this battle, but did make some nice damage before his demise. Once I have it up to level two I think it will be a much stronger card.

Three Foundations Packs Opened

I always like to share some nice pack openings, so are three for today!

A great pull of a gold foil water archon Marlai Singariel. I have a maxed out copy already, so this goes up for sale. It's running over one dollar per card currently.

And nothing to write home about here... But I got one good pull, so I'm happy!
