The Bluffing Battle

Hello, my lovely friends in the Splinterverse.

I hope every one of you is having a great time in the Splinterlands. The Splinterlands is getting more excitement now as the new battle edition, the Frontier format is live now, and now the expected rewards for the players, the foundation cards are tradable, and transferable that add great opportunity for the players. As my participation Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Underdog Victories!, I am going to talk about one of my Underdog Victory in the modern format where my winning was uncertain at the first glance but later I discovered that I won the battle due to the useless last monster used by my opponent in the battle. I hope it will help you select or consider your strategy to do better in your frontier battles.

Before, I enter into my battle, I would like to grasp some of my realization that I have faced in the recent battle scenarios according to my experiences. As previously, I have not started playing too much in the modern format for the last couple of months after the rebellion and conclave arcana cards have started being used in the modern format, so these are becoming more difficult and my winning ratio has become so low and I am pointed which are the underlying reasons behind my loosing winning ratio as follows-

  • I have not investigated about the cards and their abilities deeply as my old decks were completely based on the Chaos legion edition.

  • My old playing strategies was playing like robot without exploring the performance of my cards and currently I am trying to spend more time on battles to learn about these new cards performances.

  • My summoners are not at higher level and I am currently lacking powerful summoners as I am not spending too much for the renting cost at the moment.

  • I also don't have many cards that are so useful in the modern battles.

My Monsters Lineup

The first monster that I have used in the battle is the SKYSPIRE LEOPARD which is a solid life splinter that is solid card. This 5 MANA card is an awesome card with a great number of melee attacks with a solid number of armors and an excellent amount of health of 5.

The ability of the retaliate is a great one that allows this monster to throw back to the attackers with melee attacks with a certain possibility.

The 2nd monster that I have used in my battle is Nimbledook Explorer which is a non-attacker card but I have used it for its other benefit. This 4 MANA card is a great card with the fantastic ability of protect that add +2 armors to all of my friendly monsters.

The third monster is the UJURAK ELDER which is a great neutral card that is so useful for its amazing stats. This card is of only 3 MANA cost with one magic attacks and also with a decent number of health.

Also, this low mana card has some amazing abilities that is so good for the team. The ability of Camouflage that means it Cannot be directly targeted unless in the first position. Does not affect indirect attacks (e.g. Scattershot, Blast splash damage, or Trample) or Wingbreak. And with the Devine Shield ability this card ignores all damage once, after which the Divine Shield is destroyed.

The fourth monster that I have used HAPPY QUOKKA which is a 4 MANA card that has a decent amount of health of 3. It has also a great ability of Opportunity with a good melee attacks of 2. It is a good team member for the battle. And, in my battle it was the card that finally it made me win the battle.

My Battle
In my battle, the opponent was a stronger summoner from the Conclave Arcana that allowed to have some amazing abilities. Especially for this battle the strength ability made my battle uncertain to win at the first glace as my attackers are more with melee without having less magic attacks.

At the end of the first round there is no change in the line up. More pathetically I have lost some attacks during my battle afterwards.

In round 8, I have only one monster as I have lost my 3 of my monsters. This was pretty alarming for my battle, and I was thinking that I am going to face the lost but that time I noticed that my opponent's last monster has no attacks which made me win this battle.

And finally, I have won the match after around 12/13 rounds. It was a surprising victory for me. And I realize the importance of using relevant cards in the battles.

I hope you find some useful information in the post that will add more fun to your Splinterlands journey. If you have any questions, you can ask me in the comments. I will try to answer them as much as I can. Thanks a lot for your time and attention. I will catch you at the next one.
