Foundation Archons

Pictured above are the Archons (once known as Summoners). These aren't just any type of Archons. No sir bob; these Archons are of the Foundation set. If you are new to the Rentmoney blog or never played Splinterlands before you might be wondering why the same card is pictured three times but with different price points. The answer is this: the images on each might be the same with some notable differences but they are different variants of the same card. In-fact there is more variants than three but for the sake of this explanation we will focus on the ones imaged above. The first set of Archons are valued at $0.94 - $1.90 each. They are what are known as the Gold variety. It's much harder to attain a Gold card compared to a regular foil which is the variant shown in image two. As you can see image two (regular foil cards) are more wallet friendly. The Regular foil foundation set currently have a price point of $0.08 - $0.16 per Archon. Regular foil are the most common type of foil thus the easiest to come by. Making them the most affordable variant of any card regardless of set. We also have Gold Variants, Black Foil, and Black Variants. The third image in this post is of Black Variant. These cards are hard to come by thus their price range is $25.80 - $118.00 USD for the Foundation set. When it comes to winning battles the variant of the card you use does not matter. Each variant that is equally leveled contain the same battle stats. Some cards do give reward boosts. See the table below as we compare Conclave Arcane Gold Foil cards to Arcane Arcana Gold Variant cards. Note the rarity difference.

Intermission:

As noted in my post a day or two back titled I'll Be Playing the Sunday Million Tomorrow; my poker journey continues. I played the Sunday Million yesterday (I satellited in for free via winning a small series of tournaments) and ended up on a table where some players were playing what I consider to be scared poker. The others playing a tight game (only playing premium hands). So I entered as many pots as I could with suited connectors and any other plausible playable hand. This one player in particular was playing especially scared so I was jumping in pots with them when I could. I noticed others started doing the same and were also jumping in pots with this particular player. I ended up in a four way pot. Everyone limps in (meaning no raises preflop). I'm last to act and it gets checked to me on the flop. I make a small bet and everyone folds except the player I want in the pot. I have second pair with no paint on the board.

However my hand is unimportant as I wasn't playing my hand but I was playing the opponent. Turn card puts straight draws and flush draws on the board. Which is a perfect card for me to bet considering I'm expecting my opponent to fold just about any hand that isn't the nuts or close to it. They tank call. River comes a club which completes any flush draw. I'm first to act and Jam all in. I'm suspecting an immediate fold from anything that isn't a strong flush. Opponent tanks for awhile and calls. They turn over JJ. The river wasn't just any club but it was the J of clubs. Giving my opponent very well hidden trips. With all the limps preflop I didn't put my opponent on JJ as JJ preflop with 4 limpers in most cases is a strong raise. Got to cut down on players who see the flop with a pair like that. It was this players scared style of playing that had him limping with a premium hand like JJ. Something I should have considered giving this players style. Long story short I busted without cashing or collecting any bounty's. My bankroll currently sits at $0.12 cents/ no tournament tickets. On to the next game.

Maxing Foundation Archon Cards

The amount of cards needed to MAX a copy of an Archon depends on the Archon's varity (Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary) . For the Foundation set Archons (Rare variants) it will take 25 regular foil cards to MAX an Archon. Like the regular foil Archon, Gold Archons of the Foundation set also have a max level of 4. The difference being it only takes 4 gold cards to hit the maximum combine rate. Black Foil cards are always at MAX capacity. You can't and won't find a Black Foil card at any other level other than MAX. Please note that Foundation cards have limited combine rates compared to core sets like CA, Chaos, Untamed, ect. Foundation cards can be earned for free (soulbound) by playing the campaign mode. Campaign mode is free to play. Simply log in to Splinterlands > hover over the play icon at the top of the page > select campaign > boom you are in the right section > select BOOK 1 and enjoy the journey. Soulbound cards can not be sold or rented. Which variant should you focus on for leveling? That is a question only you can answer. Possibly all? Some more official artwork of the Foundation Archons can be seen below along with instruction on how to get to the Lore section of each. Thanks for visiting us here at the @rentmoney blog. Your attention is much appreciated. Good luck with your season end rewards and upcoming draws. We hope to see you at our next post!

Keeping up to date in Modern can be a challenge especial with the Archons, but if you MAX the Foundations cards at least you'll be able to compete without having to drop a few hundred bucks each new set as long as you have level 5 commom and level 4 rare reward cards.
