I am playing Splinterland's for long and I know that the prices of the Splinterland's asset keep on changing based on the market mood as well as the game development mechanisms. Any latest major development news pushes the prices up otherwise prices remain constant. But prices also got fluctuated by the market sentiments too that how the overall crypto market is performing. If market sentiments are damp like in current case, then it is already expected that market sentiments for the game assets will also become damp and it give you a chance to grab them in a cheap.

In current case I see that Foundation packs are available in the market for 4 cents only. When I satrted playing, I remembered that were used to 7 cents. Also I remembered that each single copy of Kaylia Silverleaf used to cost more than a dollar and some it was as high as $1.20. I see this Kaylia Silverleaf is now easily available at 90 cents per BCX. I checked for other conclave arcana archons too. Since I do not keep track price of single card but my general observation is that all cards prices has bee reduced in comparison to their dollar value with approximately around 30%.
So if you are Splinterland's lover and enjoying playing game then I can say it is good time to build your deck.

Is there any catch?

The answer to this goes with both "no" and "yes," depending on your own opinion and perspective. The card dollar value is cheap in dollar value because DEC also got cheaper in dollar value. I remember DEC being 58 cents per 1000 DEC, that is now close to 52 cents per 1000 DEC. It is almost 10% lower than it previous traded value. I see the same goes for the SPS too.
If card pack price are fixed on DEC and SPS price, it simply means that you are buying the assets cheap and selling them cheap too.

But another pointer is that card prices are reduced more than the DEC prices, so definitely owning assets becomes cheaper. Another thing depends upon your goal and mindset, if you like to play and spend in game and your proposition is to spend and earn from game versus pure mathematical and earning potential from the game.
