Hello Splinterheads, the new season in Praetoria has started and the beginning is always a bit... chaotic.
With many high level decks dropped down in rating and working hard to climb back up from where they were, winning is hard and can be frustrating in the first two or three days and it's no different this season.

So, instead of wasting time and only get frustrated let's do something else Splinterlands related because after all, it's only a game and it's meant to provide entertainment which will come back soon. 😁
First, I have a little update about the Splat Trading Bot I am using since 5 days.

These three trades are my top ones so far and the bot already earned a little over a dollar which isn't a lot maybe but a lot of drops makes a shower and it's just another source of revenue added to my account, providing a little entertainment as well checking what the bot has bought and checking the stats every now and then.
When you're interested, I've made a post about Splat last week, it's not hard to set up and please consider using my referral link when you sign up, thank you!

A couple of days ago, I met what I believe is Tom's account but I can't remember it's exact name, it's one of the many names I recognize because I've been playing against many community members for years already.
This battle, magic play was REALLY obvious because of the Thick Skinned ruleset in which all units receive the Shield ability, in a 35 mana battle I didn't expect to face the King of Dragons itself, Rage.
At level 2, this is an absolute beast because it can Weapons Train the units without attack adjacent to it, I own a level 1 myself, but at currently $10 per copy it's a bit expensive for me considering it's already over more than half of it's lifetime in Modern League.

We both had two very different strategies going into the battle, my opponent was heavily counting on Rage and his minions to punch through my team with all that magic damage combined with the Ambush ability Akane provides, while my team focused on nerfing the enemy magic damage while at the same time removing the Shield ability with Cryptic's Expose and at the same time hopefully drop some poison in the enemy rear.
I have to admit, I did NOT expect to face a Dragon team, I was expecting a Death team and for this reason I lined up Filthy Scavenger to hunt and kill the enemy Arachne Weaver... but... it's not there 😅 well, that's what can happen when your playing style is to counter your opponents.
By the way the Easter Arena looks so peaceful, until there's blood and gore all over the grass after a fierce battle. 😁
The Ambush is a really sneaky tactic, bringing damage before the real battle and trying to catch my team off guard, well not this time Mister because my Silence has severely nerfed your plan! 😁

Both Poisons dropped in round 1 which was really helpful as well, now let's hope my Baron Fyatt can hit that Rage to nerf the damage even more!

In round 2, exactly this happened AND Rage got poisoned as well, in some battles everything just goes perfect, or wrong it's just on which side you are.
And suddenly, that mighty King of Dragons doesn't look so tough anymore huh, poisoned, blinded, silenced and it's remaining damage halved. Of course that Blind doesn't do anything because I don't have any units with the Phase ability in my team.

In round 4, my entire team was still alive but on the other side only one had survived until now...

The Victory was a nice one, I always get scared when I see that Rage in the enemy team but it turns out with some Silence, it's not so scary anymore.

You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.

That is awesome! Well done!
Silence and headwinds stacking are both great. That's a potent team there.
