Splinterlands: Land update - buying more Gold Foils!

land update.jpg

With all the new and exiting updates lately in the world of Praetoria, it's easy to forget about another great part of the game, land!
A month ago, my participation in to land got a jump start and I was able to buy more land plots than I had originally planned for my modern account but I simply couldn't say no to a great offer, and I became the owner of 7 plots in Region 81.

Before I got that offer, I owned 4 plots of land in Region 81 and because I really wanted the fifth plot to get the 'Warden' title, boosting my in game earnings with 5% which is pretty significant long term in my opinion, I just bough the cheapest plot I could find in a region I wasn't active at floor price, which was $14 at that time.

I make a habit of LOCKING everything I buy, so with the other plots I locked this one as well for 30 days.

Then I got an offer in a message on X to buy three more plots so now I suddenly had eight, seven in the same region so now I didn't need the random plot anymore, so I started the 30 day unlock, which will end in 2 hours.

With the cheapest plot in that region currently selling for $31 and I'm in no rush to sell, there's a good chance I will more than double my money, which is great for my DEC hungry accounts (and I have two of them with 15 plots in total and since I'm not a whale, this will take some time to get them online 😅)

Monthly fun money

Because it's easy to get lost in excitement, I made the plan to put €50 personal money in to my land plans every month, on top of that I am earning with my blogs which will go to modern cards and I'm collecting cans and bottles from the streets, which has deposit money on them in my country, which is another €10 - €15 every month I use to buy more SPS with, that too a Splinterlands player never has enough!

I had close to 58k DEC to start with so my plan was to upgrade my rare grain plot with a common totem on it which currently had some regular foil reward cards on them but not even maxed cards.

Calculating what my best option per dollar is and the fact I wanted to have more Production Points (P.P.) than 1000 for each worker, it turned out I needed to get more common gold foil Chaos Legion reward cards OR core cards, whichever were available and the cheapest.

Of course I also needed to look at the plot synergy, so I needed Water of Earth cards to get the 10% boost.

So, I started sweeping the market, sorry for that! 😁
Anything common gold foil for under 20 cents is a good deal in my opinion, after combining and putting them to land, I found I had to stake another 23k DEC to land to be at 100% efficiency, crap, that's a lot!

The boost was really nice though, more than doubling my Production Points!

Switching to my other account

When I went over to my other account, I could see my first plot in region 81 had completed the worksite, so now it needed 15K grain to complete the worksite and start producing its own grain.

Starting completely new is annoying because you need grain to start anything but it was nice I could transfer enough from my other account to get this one started as well, another plot has come online, it's me!

Efficiency is only at 52% but that's where the 30k dec from selling my random plot will help with, all in all this will be a slow going process for the next year probably, but a fun one and knowing Splinterlands land will get more and more involved in other parts of the game, and I want to have a piece of the pie I know it's the right thing to start because I'm here for the long run!

🌟 Limited Supply = Big Demand

There are only 150,000 plots of land, and they’re all sold out—meaning if you want one now, you’ll have to buy from another player. This scarcity gives land lasting value, especially as more gameplay features are unlocked.

The earlier you get in and develop your plots, the more you can benefit as others enter the ecosystem later.

Whether you're a collector, investor, or hardcore gamer, land ownership in Splinterlands opens up a whole new layer of gameplay and strategy. It's where DeFi, NFTs, and gaming meet and it rewards those who plan ahead.

As more phases roll out, landowners won’t just be players, they’ll be creators shaping the future of the Splinterlands world.

That are some nice moves on land. I still hesitant to buy gold units because in the end it will be costly to level up imho. But looking at your common gold cards are producing nicely 👍. Now I question my discissions 🤣.

So lets compare:
Your common gold cards

vs

My epic regular

Hhhm might start shifting towards common gold (max unit ~$7.880 ) vs mine epic regular (~$4.870)

Also not sure you have a higher bas PP which also make it consume more... Land is not easy lol 🤣

No it's not easy at all! It's fun though, I'm moving the previous workers to common lands on my other account I think and will just DCA in every month, we'll see where it takes us, I just want to be a part of it 😀

Similar for me... my first thought is to go a bit wider—grab more plots and using cheaper units. Then, over time, gradually upgrade to higher PP cards using the resources those plots produce.
Cards will keep getting printed, but plots are limited. There’s still plenty available now, but that 150K plots cap is a hard limit.
