Splinterlands: Defeating Lux Vega!

Hey fellow Splinterfans, and welcome back to my Splinterlands blog, it was a busy week for me so I was only able to make two posts this week on top of my regular splinterlands works like managing the guild, playing brawls on multiple accounts, harvesting land and grinding ranked battles, and for the first in a long time, I was able to push to Diamond 1 with my highest level account, with only one day left in the season, I will be earning just over 100k in glint for this season, so 200k in total because I spend it all at once just after season end, and even with my secondary account I'm earning somewhere around the 70k so 140k in total, pretty nice!

So, earlier this week I was grinding my second account which has just entered Diamond 3, and this is a gold level account without many of the much needed legendary cards, but even without them I manage to get quite a bit of wins because this account has a nice set of the previous reward cards.
Unfortunately for me, in Diamond 3 there are also a lot of max level accounts, and I face Lux Vega a lot, she is awesome and because she is a neutral summoner, you can always choose her, so once you own or rent her, you could be without any other summoner and still perform pretty well, it's not for the lower league players though because she is only available at max level...

The battle I have saved to share with you is a high mana battle fought in the Modern League with my gold account, it is a Close Range / Stampede / Armored Up battle with ONLY the Death and Dragon splinters available to be chosen from, with the two obvious summoners Quix, nerfing ranged damage and Thaddius, nerfing magic damage and the rule set combination of Close Range and Armored up, favoring both range and magic, there was no way to tell what to expect from my opponent, so I just concentrated on making a nice team myself!

First look at the battlefield:

Well it wasn't Quix OR Thaddius, it is Lux Vega! That max Arkemis is very powerful but there isn't a lot of magic and I have a shielded tank so let's see how this goes, I definitely have a level disadvantage here but like I said, I do have some very nice reward cards in this account, helping me a lot.

My Line-Up:

• Summoner: Quix the Devious - reason: -1 Ranged damage and access to the Dragons.
• First position: Harklaw - reason: Shield.
• Second position: Night Reaper - reason: High HP, awesome against Flying units.
• Third position: Drybon Raider - reason: Double Strike with two attacks, with the Close Range ability he will attack FOUR times once he gets to the front!
• Fourth position: Dragon Egg Forager - reason: Great card! Fast, good attack, Opportunity and Scavenge.
• Fifth position: Zyriel - reason: Weapons Trainer.
• Sixth position: Will-O-Wisp - reason: Fast, Flying and Silence, great card to receive Weapons Training.

So I tried to prepare the best against both ranged and magic attacks with a tank with the Shield ability, using a summoner who does -1 ranged damage and using a card with Silence, doing -1 magic damage.

The Battle:

Round 1: Well the attack power of the other team is not very high anymore, the Gargoya Devil will be killed by my Reaper next round, nothing much has happened just yet.

Round 2: Arkemis is now enraged and really fast, that could be a problem, but then again he only has 5HP left, this is looking pretty nice!

Round 3: And suddenly things get crazy, the entire front line is killed and my Forager is scavenging a lot of HP, this is a win for sure!

Round 4: Only one attacker left, I don't even think my Drybone Raider will get to the front, he's hitting HARD if he does 😆 well.. if he's able to HIT that is... because he's kinda slow.

Round 5: Yep, it's over! Only 1 archer left and he's unable to attack from the first position.

My Forager made the final kill, and it's a glorious WIN! I rented 50k extra SPS to boost my glint and SPS rewards, the 350 DEC is easily earned back times two in SPS alone when I play enough.

So, back to grinding my ranked battles again, it's pretty though now because with this account I'm facing max level summoners in about half of my battles, and with my account with max level summoners, I'm facing Tofu and Lorkus more and more, they are SO good!
