Less is more, sharing a cool battle!

Hey everyone, lately I have been a LOT less active with Splinterlands and Hive in general, it was a combination of different things that made me enjoy the game not as much as it did anymore, the most important one was the rating inflation which made me shoot all the way to Diamond 2 with my Silver level deck, and I ended up fighting max level decks in 80% of my battles, it's cool when I beat them but that high up my win rate wasn't very high and although I enjoy thinking about the ruleset combinations and the possibilities that my deck provides me, it felt like a waste of time so I ended up spending my time in different ways.

Going hard for multiple years has to have a pause at some point to rest and regain the enjoyment of playing I guess, so I set up XBot for my manual account to play until there are 24 energy points left so now energy goes to waste, this way, when I want I can always battle manually in Modern League when I want to which didn't happen a lot in the first couple of weeks I have to say...

So, when you play less you're not ending up as high as before, and the opponents don't have max level decks so in this case less is definitely more!

This morning I started playing again and I'm glad it's not the game itself that didn't bring me joy anymore, it's still great and I have a cool battle to share.

This battle I just fought and decided to make a post about, it's something else I enjoy 😄
So, with 50 mana to spend we could both make a strong team, and with only the Water splinter unavailable the options were numerous, with reversed speed the Fire team is always a good choice in my opinion, Fire, even when I started playing many years ago has always been the slower, heavy hitting team.

We both were fighting with a Silver level deck, it's nice to have an even playing field! I still have an 'older' deck and don't have the advantage of bloodline plays, I'm using tactics!
But, to be fair when I saw the enemy line up with so many Ulunds with the Shield ability, I wasn't entirely sure who would win...

In reversed speed, Grove Doomblade is a shining star, she hits hard and stuns in 50% of the attacks when she hits too, really nice!

The first round, not a lot happened, I put the Taunt ability on my Mantaroth since my opponent didn't bring any magic, this way I could use the Shield ability supported with Corrupted Healing the best way.

The healing definitely was key here, it also helped Doomblade stunned the healing Ulund on the other team in both first rounds so it wasn't able to heal their tank.

I haven't seen this Bloodline Pact in action before, or maybe I didn't pay as much attention but in this case it worked against their own team, when I killed the healing Ulund in the back the linked units took 1 damage, with the 1 damage the Legendary unit got killed, doing 2 more damage to the linked Ulunds, thanks for that!

This was the turning point in the fight, and from here on their defeat arrives quickly...

Grove had the final kill, winning me the battle.

You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.

The rewards are much, much better than what the bot earns in Wild figthing in Silver 2 at the moment.

30% of the SPS goes to XBot too!

Well, back to battles it is, I still have 26 energy to burn through before the Tour de France starts later today! 🙂
