Happy Easter everyone! Although it's a Holy day, battles in Praetoria continue and because of it I have some extra free time to make Splinterlands content and grind my ranked battles, yay! 😊

We're in this season for four or five days already, and the start wasn't easy - today is the first day things are starting to look better again and my win rate is creeping back to that 50% from low 30's.

Today is the second time I've met Treycrypto on the battlefield, this battle doesn't only have the Runeguard land title but also has a really nice deck to play with and I think 7 out of 10 times, they kick my ass with it but not today because I have won both battles! 😃

The nice thing about a smaller player base is you start to recognize some names that are here for years, just like myself.

Before I continue with sharing the battle for this post, let's look at what my side project had done until now!
About two weeks ago, I have started using the Splat automated trading bot and I won't go in to a lot of details in here but I did make a separate post on this topic so if you're interested you can read it here.

To test the service, I tranfered the liquid DEC I had to my trading account which was about $17.50 and in two weeks the bot earned $1.79 in 90 trades of which it sold 60 cards already for an average 35% profit.

One of the best Gladiator cards when Earth is not an option to choose Quora or Katrelba is definitely Fina Voxom, at level 1 she's good, but at level 2 she received the Piercing ability which makes all the difference because now, combined with her Opportunity ability she hunts and kills low HP units in one blow, gearing up her Blood Lust, Lorkus gives her one extra attack... that's a really potent team!

On my main account, which is usually played by the bot but I play my brawls myself of course I also have this card, just not in the Gold Foil version but on my modern account I don't even have a single copy of this amazing card.

When I was making my team, I wanted to have options so I lined up both Slade as Isgald Vorst, and let it depend on the enemy line-up who would receive the Armored Strike ability Elias gives.

After seeing the other team, the choice for giving Isgald the ability was easy so it would hunt down and kill that Arachne Weaver at the start of the battle, I also brought Olivia to this fight so she would hopefully steal that Bloodlust ability, but she will probably be Fina's first victim...

Because both our tanks took some serious damage, both our Opportunity Gladiators targeted the tank instead of the 4 HP monsters in the back of the other teams but my tank had the Shield ability, mitigating half of the incoming damage while Isgald made her first kill. With the Armored Strike, a Bloodlust increase in both the melee attack and 1 extra armor boosts both attacks so that's pretty nice!

Not only that, but Isgald killed the Giraffe on her second strike in round 1, getting her total attack power up to 15, combined with Opportunity that's lethal!

Fina got to the first position where she's matched up against Slade, not the best opponent to deal with while Isgald was safely protected in the rear, and every hit meant another kill - with 7 speed the chance of missing an attack was very low.

Being the MVP, Isgald made the final kill, winning me the battle.

I am now in Gold 2 so the rewards are getting better already. Gold 1... here I come!
