Hey everyone, it's a while ago since I made my last Splinterlands post because I was a little time crunched and busy with cycling and painting the house. Life sometimes brings solutions to bring more rest in our lives again and this time I was just forced to take things easier, I got sick... 😏
At the time of writing this post it's 8am so my head is still clear, yesterday I couldn't do anything I liked on my computer because of brain fog so I've spent most of the day watching Netflix 😅 basically a lost day...
So, while I can I played some Splinterlands battles and now it's time to make another post because I've decided I want a new Archon, Dragonlord Mancer!
I really, really like my dragons already and I currently have Akane and Sheng Xiao I use in my Modern battles, and while a level 2 Archon is currently worth around $39 it will take some time to save up for this, I have a cool battle to share that I fought this morning, and it suits well in today's Dragon theme.

This was a battle with quite a lot of mana available, and only the Earth, Death and Dragon splinters available. I expected my opponent to go with the Dragons as well, because I could see it played a lot in the previous battles, dragons usually means a lot of magic so I made sure to include a unit with the Void ability in the front of my team but my first focus was to spread around the poison from my Archon effectively, so I used a tank with Void Armor so that upon resurrection it would take one or two hits extra before it dies again and use Lord Thanalor to Scavenge more Health Points from all the fallen monsters.

Seeing the level 3 Nidhogr as my opponent, I wasn't sure I would win this fight because Nidhogr tends to surprise me a lot, even if I think I will win.
My Void Armor plan isn't really working because the enemy Lord Thanalor has the Rust ability, lowering my armor with 2. I adapted to what monsters in my team I would give the Poison Burst to by looking at the other team, and I figured the Archer Sneak guy would kill my last unit pretty fast, so I put the Poison Burst to the first and last unit in my team.

At the start of round 2, already a couple of monsters had died and Poison was spread around. I brought two units with Wing Break to counter the enemy Rage but the enemy team is strong...

In round 3, it still wasn't clear who would win, battles like these are the most exciting to watch. 🙂
Both Lord Thanalors are Scavenging a lot of Health Points!

At the start of round 5, the enemy Rage died so that's something but I still had to deal with Thanalor with a lot of Health Points at the front while my Night Reaper was about to be killed.

Assisted by the Poison and the Electrified, the enemy Calamity takes 3 damage on it's own every round so that helps, my Thanalor got to the first position with twice as much as Health Points as the enemy Thanalor, is it enough? I think it is...

In round 7, the enemy Thanalor was killed for the first time and again right after that, leaving only Calamity. I think bringing debilitation units in to a long fight like this and putting them in the rear brings too much damage to your own team.

In round 8, Calamity was killed, resurrected and died right after it from it's own Electrified damage - a win for me!
You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.

Lately, something has changed in the battles, it's easier to get to a higher rating and at the end of last three seasons I am able to break in to Diamond League again but now already I am earning a lot more SPS with every win than I used to, up to 9.3 this morning.
Higher rating also means more Staked SPS is required to keep that SPS boost around 10x so I've delegated 10k SPS from my main account to my Modern account to see if it helps, and my boost went from 9.3x to 10.3x so hopefully, that means even more Glint and SPS.

If you haven't made an account already, please consider using my referral link to sign up, let me know if you have done so and I can help you with any questions you have and personally guide you.
Have a great day!

Thanks for sharing 🙏, poison burst strategy is always fatal, especially when it is applied early at start of battle. The -2 damage on opponents monsters health affected by the burst at every other round is delight to watch.
I bought Sheng Xiao because it was used so effectively against me, it's really annoying to see your team slowly die from poison 😅 thanks for stopping by!
😂😂😂, I quite agree with you 💯,And the cleanse ability doesn't do much against it.This same poison burst incident in battles, made me to go rent the Archon Cryptic, that grants two monsters poison at start of battle. Anyway kudos to you once again on your win,do have a wonderful day.
