Today I'll explain the Frontier format in Splinterlands, so join me on this brief and helpful journey through the game.
Before I start talking about Splinterlands, I invite you to check out Arcade Colony. There, you'll find three other games that might catch your attention: Moon Karts , Stakehouse Den , and Genesis League Goals.
For those unfamiliar with Arcade Colony, it's owned by Invennium Corp. Arcade Colony is a platform for arcades and video games with a functional economy based on a governance token, "COLONY", and a product-backed stablecoin called "SCRIPT".
Creating an account on Arcade Colony is very simple, and in my post: Discover the Arcade Colony Platform, I explain how to do it and also give a brief summary of each game.
Now, let's return to Splinterlands and learn about the recently launched Frontier format.
There are currently four ranked battle formats in Splinterlands: Modern, Wild, Survivor and Frontier.
The Frontier format has its own energy, meaning you won't spend the energy used in the Modern and Wild formats.
Unlike the other formats, Modern, Wild, and Survivor, the Frontier format doesn't reward you with SPS and Glint. Your rewards in this format are cards, chests, and draw chances to get Gold Arcane, Black Arcane, and Black Arcane cards.
There are currently three leagues in the Frontier format: Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
Players can receive up to three rewards daily.
These are the Bronze League rewards:
Bronze III - 1 Foundations Card Draw + 1 Frontier Entry.
Bronze II - 2 Foundations Card Draws + 2 Frontier Entries.
Bronze I - 2 Foundations Card Draws + 1 Frontier Entry.
These are the Silver League rewards:
Silver III - 3 Foundations Card Draws + 2 Frontier Entries.
Silver II - 3 Foundations Card Draws + 2 Frontier Entries.
Silver I - 4 Foundations Card Draws + 2 Frontier Entries.
These are the Gold League rewards:
Gold III - 1 Foundations Set Pack + 3 Frontier Entries.
Gold II - 1 Foundations Set Pack + 3 Frontier Entries.
Gold I - 1 Foundations Set Pack + 3 Frontier Entries.
Remember that you can receive up to 3 rewards daily.
There are also advancement rewards:
Bronze II - 5 Minor Foundations Chests.
Bronze I - 10 Minor Foundations Chests.
Silver III - 15 Minor Foundations Chests.
Silver II - 5 Major Foundations Chests + 10 Minor Foundations Chests.
Silver I - 10 Major Foundations Chests + 5 Minor Foundations Chests.
Gold III - 15 Major Foundations Chests.
Gold II - 5 Ultimate Foundations Chests + 10 Major Foundations Chests.
Gold I - 10 Ultimate Foundations Chests + 5 Major Foundations Chests.
Foundations chests contain random rewards. Each chest has a 40% chance of containing Foundations cards, a 20% chance of containing potions, and a 40% chance of containing Frontier Energy.
Using a Legendary potion will double the chances of receiving both an Epic and Legendary card, and an Alchemy potion will double the chances of obtaining a Gold Foil card.
The Frontier format has a leaderboard that will reward you with Foundations Set Packs and Frontier Entries depending on your ranking at the end of the season.
Only cards from the Foundations set are usable in Frontier format. No reward cards or Gladiator cards may be used in this format.
Only players who reach the maximum tier (Gold I) will be reset at the end of the season.
If you want to try the Frontier format without spending anything, you can get cards in Splinterlands Campaign mode. These cards are untradeable, but you can use them to battle in the Frontier format.
I recently wrote a post explaining Campaign mode and how to complete it. If you'd like to read the post, it's here: Explaining in Detail How to Complete Campaign Mode.
