My journey with the Splinterlands game is quite long. Those who play blockchain-based or web 3 games know that very few games can retain players for a long time. But Splinterlands is completely different from that place. Those who play this game regularly must know how important Web3uild is in this game. It is more fun to participate in guild brawls or battles between guilds with other members of the guild than playing ranked matches alone. The merit or guild tokens that we get by participating in these brawls can be used to do many great things in the game that cannot be purchased directly from the marketplace.

For quite some time, due to some personal troubles, I was not giving much time to the game. However, despite my busy schedule, I tried to participate in guild brawls fairly regularly because I was responsible for my guild. As a result, I did not notice that a good amount of merit tokens had accumulated in my account. Today, after suddenly logging into the game in my free time, I looked at the guild store. As soon as I looked at the balance, I saw that I had accumulated about seventeen thousand nine hundred and sixty-eight merit tokens. Then I thought that it has been a long time since any time has been spent on the game or no packs have been opened. Today, let's use these merits to open some Gladius cases or guild packs. There is a different experience in opening any kind of pack in the game that real gamer,s can feel well.

After making the decision, I went straight to the guild store. There, I saw that I could easily buy a few Gladius cases with my accumulated merits. The store priced each pack at two thousand merits. I calculated that if I spent eight thousand merits, I would be able to buy four packs and I would have some more merits accumulated. So I selected four packs at once and completed the purchase. However, those who have been playing Splinterlands for a long time and regularly, open Gladius cards know very well how important it is to use some potions or stones to increase the chances of getting good rarity cards when opening cards. Opening only empty packs greatly reduces the chances of getting good cards.

So I didn't just stop at buying the pack. Since I still had a few more merits left after buying the pack, I decided to buy some blood stones and power stones from the market. Blood stones basically double the chances of getting legendary cards from the pack, and power stones increase the chances of getting gold foil cards. I bought twenty blood stones for 1,800 merits and twenty power stones for 1,440 merits so that my luck would be good when opening the packs and I could get some good quality cards. After buying the stones, I made up my mind and went to the pack opening section.

When I clicked to open the packs, the cards th, at were placed upside down appeared on the screen with a beautiful animation. The most exciting moment of playing Splinterlands was when I opened this pack. The curiosity to know what was hidden behind these five cards was really strange, whether I would get a rare or legendary card in my destiny. A different excitement was working in my chest. Without further ado, I started opening the packs one by one.

After opening the first pack, I was quite surprised and very happy. Because from the first pack, I got two rare cards. The cards were Captain Katie and Lisa Fox. Apart from these wonderful cards, I also got some familiar common cards like Ysgald Vorst and Bertolt Gibson. My confidence increased a lot after seeing the results of the first pack. It felt like the day would bring something really good as I was opening the pack after a long time.

Then I opened the second pack with great enthusiasm. In the second pack, I was surprised to get my desired Captain Katie card again. Honestly, it was a bit frustrating at first when I got the same card over and over again, but later I realized how much it helps to level up or upgrade the cards. This pack also had cards like Chimney Wallstop and Crush Wonderford, which often act as game changers in Guild Brawl.

After opening the third pack, I saw that there was also a rare card and that was Liza Fox, which I got in the first pack. Apart from that, this pack also had some great cards for sneak attacks like Bartholomew Gibson and Cutrelba Gibson. Cutrelba Gibson is a card that many players like in Guild Brawl because its double strike ability can finish off the opponent's back row cards in an instant.

Finally, I opened my fourth and last pack of the day. In this pack, I got a rare snipe card named Alfredo. Along with some common cards like the previous packs, I got Chimney Wallstop and Cutrelba Gibson. Overall, my gains from the four packs were not bad at all, I am quite happy. Although I did not get any legendary or gold foil cards, I still got some good rare and workable common cards that will give me a big advantage in my upcoming guild brawls.

After the entire pack opening process, I was reviewing the new cards I got in my inventory. One particular card caught my eye the most and to be honest, this card has been on my wish list for a long time. The card is called Captain Katie. It is a rare card of the Life element. If you look at the stats of this card at level one, anyone is bound to be impressed. It costs only seven mana and has a powerful magic attack of three points, two points of speed and a huge health of seven points. It also has a great snipe ability, which allows it to directly hit the opponent's weak targets.
However, the biggest strength of the Gladius cards is the,ir Bloodlust ability, which this card also has. Whenever Captain Katie destroys an opponent's card or deals a killing blow, all of his stats increase by one point due to Bloodlust. This means that his speed, health and magic attack damage all increase. If a magic attack card has the snipe ability, hitcan directly penetrate the opponent's armor and target weak cards and easily trigger Bloodlust, which makes him unstoppable after a few rounds.

Since I opened the pack today and received several copies of the Captain Katie card, I didn't think anything else. I went straight to the card options and combined the new cards with the ones I had in my previous copies. Leveling up cards in Splinterlands is fun because it increases the power of the cards a lot. I combined several additional cards together. Now my Captain Katie card is even more powerful than before. I am now eagerly waiting for our next Guild Brawl to start and I can bring my newly upgraded favorite card to the battlefield. After a long time, I really enjoyed spending so much time in the game and spending the merits. This experience of opening the pack today added a new dimension to my gameplay. Hopefully, in the future, when I accumulate more merits and open the pack again, I may even get to see my desired legendary or gold foil card.
