Greetings to all the readers here,
I am back again with a Splinterlands post, and today I am going to share one of the things currently happening in the game because of the Winter Festival. Along with that, I am also going to share 2 battles that I played just before starting to write this post.
Let us first talk about the Winter Festival. During this event, all units are affected by a special modifier. In each round, if a unit does not attack, it takes 2 true damage at the end of that round. This rule applies to both teams, so it is very important to keep this in mind while selecting your cards.

This special modifier is known as Frostbite, and it will remain active until 31 December. That means you still have around 11 to 12 days to play with this modifier and experiment with different strategies.
In the screenshot below, you can see my first battle. The battle rules allowed 80 mana cost, which meant I could bring the best cards from my collection. If you look carefully, my opponent had a power of 374k, which clearly shows that he is a very experienced player with a strong collection of cards. But still, I decided to go ahead and play the battle.

Below, you can see the team I selected. I took Thalgrimor with me and added what I believed were the best cards for this match. You can see both team lineups in the screenshot below.

During the battle, things were going quite well for me initially. As you can see in the screenshot below, I had 4 monsters remaining while my opponent had only 3 monsters left.
However, all 3 of the opponent’s monsters were using magic attacks, and they also had plus 1 magic attack ability. Because of this, they were able to deal heavy damage very quickly.

In the final round, I was left with only 1 monster, while the opponent still had 3 monsters. At that point, it was clear that I was going to lose the battle, and unfortunately, I did lose it.

Now let us talk about the second battle, which you can see in the screenshot below. This time, the opponent used an earth summoner. Once again, I chose Thalgrimor because in my opinion it is one of the best summoners I own.

This battle went much better for me. As you can see in the screenshot below, I had 4 cards remaining at the end of the match, while the opponent was left with only 1 card. This time, I managed to secure the victory.

So that is how I ended my day in Splinterlands. I played 2 battles, lost 1 but learned something from it, and won 1 with a smile on my face. That is all for today, and I will continue to share more about the game in the coming days.
