Today we won a lot of exciting rewards in Splinterlands and also learned about different types of abilities in the game. Last time when we played, we won two new Archons, one from the Fire category and the other from the Magic category. Along with them, we also got some cards from the same categories, so now we have a Magic team and a Fire team ready.
Today we took our Magic team for the very first battle, and I am going to share that because that is what the next chapter is about. In the screenshot below, you can see that our lineup is already set. We are there with the Magic lineup, and the opponent is, I think, from a different category. I am not sure which one, because they do not look like they are from the Fire or Earth category, so maybe it is a new category that we will learn about later.
In the screenshot below, I have shared the Archon that gave us the ability of +1 magic. This means all the monsters we took into the battle with magic attack will have an additional attack added to them because of our Archon, named Marlai Singariel.
After we won the battle, we were rewarded with three different cards. You can see those cards in the screenshot below. These cards are from the Fire category, so now we have three new cards in the Fire category. I was excited to know what was different about these cards because we already had a few cards from the Fire category, so probably these were given to us for a reason.
In the screenshot below, you can see the next chapter where they taught us about abilities in Splinterlands. One of the abilities you can see is the sneak ability. A monster with the sneak ability has a special power that allows it to attack the opponent’s monster in the last position. So if you have a melee attack monster with the sneak ability, it will attack the last monster of the opponent’s team. Only when your sneak ability monster is in the first position will it attack the first monster of the opponent’s team. This is how the sneak ability works.
We then moved on to our battle, and for that, we had to choose an Archon. Our Fire Archon can be seen below. His name is Barthalamas, and he gives +1 speed to all our monsters. I was very excited to see how the battle would go, and I was also curious to know what lineup the opponent would come up with.
In the screenshot below, you can see that the opponent’s team came up with a Magic lineup, and I was there with the Fire category. The battle was quite tough. At one point, I thought I might lose because only two monsters were left at the end, and all my other monsters were killed by the opponents, they played really well.
There were three abilities that I got to learn about in this battle. The first one, which I already discussed above, was the sneak ability. Then there is the opportunity ability, which attacks the opponent with the least health. I think this is a really good ability. Finally, there was another ability named, reach that allows your melee attack monster to target even from the second position, which is generally not possible. Normally, melee attack monsters can only attack from the first position, but these abilities give them the power to attack from different positions.
Finally, you can see in the screenshot below that we won around six new cards, and I think this is a new category that we have added. I already played a lot of Splinterlands today, so I am going to leave it here for now.
I am very happy because I won a lot of things today, and I also learned about the abilities of cards in Splinterlands. I am excited to explore more abilities, as they have shared a link where I can learn about them in detail, so I am going to go through it as well.
